One of the most important things a president needs to do is assemble a team of the best talents that Nigeria can offer.

Obasanjo and Jonathan had some brilliant Ministers, something Buhari has failed to replicate.

I understand that as Governor of Lagos State, Tinubu also assembled some brilliant minds (including Osinbajo). This gives me some hope that he can repeat that feat, if elected.

Atiku also appears to be someone who can pull off that feat. He also seem to have a 'can do spirit'. I like that.

I do not subscribe to cancelling these two just on account of their age.

Younger does not guarantee better.

The only way, they can have a fighting chance is if PDP presents another candidate aside Atiku, But if Atiku remains the flag bearer of PDP (as it will automatically be) then for any of the above to win they would need the full federal might, unbreakable unity in APC which would mean Tinubu and Buhari camps will be fully united in backing such individual. But any variant in support from any of these 2 groups then you know all these people mentioned up there are paper weights, APC would be handing the presidency to Atiku on a platter of gold.

Just as unknown Yar Adua quashed him in 2007 and GEJ defeated him in the PDP primary in 2010

Hopefully these people will declare their interest in the coming weeks.

What's clear is that the quality of leadership and candidates in Nigeria is not great.

Fashola did not exactly prove himself as Minister for Power.

There's zero proof that Fayemi can lead Nigeria any better than the rest. He did very little as Minister for Mines. As a 2 time Governor of Ekiti, he has not exactly distinguished himself.

Never really been impressed with Amaechi whenever I've had him talk. Anybody can build railways if the money is available.

Strangely enough, Okorocha impresses me when I've heard him talk. He says the right things, but it seems Imolites were not impressed with him as Governor. Also, all the corruption palaver isn't good for him.

That leaves Osinbajo. He should be a better President having been an understudy for 8years. He should throw his hat in the ring and test his popularity.

Obi could be a good one but he seems to lack confidence in himself. Prob waiting for vice presidency.

Moghalu and the rest are simply too young. Nigeria's complexity and immediate existential challenges require a mature hand who understands the system and can bring all the peoples of Nigeria together in a fair and equitable manner.

Those younger ones claiming they have all the solutions should first prove themselves as Ministers.
