Fighters from Chechen Republic have been airlifted out of Ukraine after devastating losses, intelligence sources claim.

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) said the troops, also known as Kadyrovites, had returned to Chechnya's capital Grozny.

The SBU said that the soldiers had been pulled out after enduring a high death toll in the first three weeks of the war, reports The Mirror.

Reports of Chechen troops participating in Russia's invasion of Ukraine began in the first days of the Russian invasion on February 24.

Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov promised earlier this month to "finish" anyone refusing to surrender and boasted about his troops forcing Ukrainian soldiers to flee.

On February 26, a video began circulating of Chechen servicemen hoisting a Russian flag on a military unit building in Gostomel, a village 50 kilometres northwest of the Ukrainian capital.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine authenticated the video, but denied the claims within it that they had fought off three Ukrainian advances - saying that the area invaded was empty at the time.

A day later, three days after the invasion began, commander of the 141st Motorized Regiment of the Chechen Rosguard, General Magomed Tushayev, died.

During efforts to land at Gostomel airport from February 26 and 28, "several hundred" Chechen fighters lost their lives, SBU intelligence officers say.

A large column of what appeared to be Kadyrovites fighters and military machines was then filmed in Bucha, north of Kyiv.

Subsequent video emerged of airstrikes being launched at it and the wreckage of many of the army vehicles.

Kadyrov, who is President of Chechnya, initially denied casualties among his fighters, but on February 28 he acknowledged the deaths of two Chechen servicemen, while not giving their names.

"Unfortunately, there are casualties among the natives of the Chechen Republic. Two died and six others were injured," he wrote on Telegram.

Claims from both sides regarding lives lost and the current location of troops are difficult to verify, given the contested area in which the Chechens were operating.

According to SBU counterintelligence, on March 13, the Kadyrovites were evacuated from the territory of the Kyiv region via Belarus and further by air to Chechnya.

At the same time, Kadyrov announced that he was sending a thousand more of his fighters to Ukraine.

Footage that has emerged in the last few days suggests that there are at least some Chechen fighters are still involved in the invasion.

While I admit that there are obviously attempts by both sides to use media in exaggerating their positions in this war (this isn't an unusual practice in war) but one thing is undeniable: this war is definitely not going according to Putin's plan, because what he has met on the ground in Ukraine is definitely not what his spies and intelligence reports predicted before the invasion. I see some chief spies going to the gulag after this war grin

You people keep pushing foreign fighters into their death with unbalanced report, painting pictures like Ukraine is winning when we all know that Russia is just one step away from capturing the seat of power in Kyiev.

Just one more hypersonic missile strike , Ukraine is finished

grin grin The Russians never expected such fierce resistance from the Ukrainians, and the heavy casualties in their military ranks,in this war. They thought they could invade Ukraine, do the war within a few days and withdraw, leaving Ukraine on her knees. But they got more than they bargained for.

The truth is that at this point Russia cannot demilitarize Ukraine and force regime change. Ukraine is fighting for real independence from Russia. RA cannot match UA on ground. Yes, Russia Airforce and Navy are far more superior than that of Ukraine. Israel air force can withstand Russian air force with ease. That is reason Zelenskyy is begging israel for air defense system. I see Ukrainian military becomes stronger after this war. Ukraine anti-warship missile is scheduled to launch by may 2022 defend her sea from invaders. They started working on that shortly after Putin annexed crimea.

There are a lots of fake news flying around. They claimed to have killed their leader who was not Ukraine then. Now he has gone to join his men in Ukraine.

They’ve been one step from capturing Kyiv for 2 weeks now. Read live feeds and not BS stories. Russian soldiers have not advanced on any front in this war, infact, they’ve been pushed back.
Their new strategy is bomb every city to surrender. Even Mauripol is not yet taken despite the hellish desolation cause by Russian bombardments. The only advantage Russia has right now is air power which is why Ukraine is literally begging for Anti air missile defense systems like Iron dome and THAAD.

no one wins war by ground troops. Air,and missile strikes is what surrenders the enemy. The ground troops are only deployed to lay siege, and cause distraction for air bombardment. He who owns the air takes the spoil. So , who is having upper hand?

You better stop reading news from Western propagandists.

If Putin is interested In using the infantries to over run Ukraine , he would not have deployed only 10,000 troops out of 100,000 deployed
