Russian Ambassador Says Poland Blocked His Embassy's Bank Accounts by Minjim(op): 12:10am On Mar 25, 2022

Russia's ambassador to Warsaw said on Thursday that Poland had blocked the Russian embassy's bank accounts on the basis that they might be used to finance terrorist activity or launder money.

"Our accounts have been blocked by a decision of the finance ministry, and then by a decision of the Polish prosecutor," the TASS news agency quoted Ambassador Sergey Andreev as saying on Russia's Channel 1 state television.

He said the reason given for the move was that "funds from our accounts could allegedly be used for laundering of illegally obtained money or for financing terrorism".

Poland's foreign ministry on Wednesday said it was expelling 45 Russian diplomats suspected of working for Russian intelligence. Russia called the accusation baseless.

Asked about the expulsion of Russian diplomats and whether the Russian embassy's funds had been frozen, Poland's Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said on Thursday: "I can only say in general terms that we have been dealing with the freezing of funds of the Russian Federation."

Relations between Russia and Central European countries that once formed part of its sphere of influence have long been fraught but the Ukraine conflict has significantly increased fear and suspicion of Moscow's intentions.

Russia sent tens of thousands of troops into Ukraine on Feb. 24 in what it called a special operation to degrade its southern neighbour's military capabilities and root out people it called dangerous nationalists.

Ukrainian forces have mounted stiff resistance and the West has imposed sweeping sanctions on Russia in an effort to force it to withdraw its forces.

A month ago, Poland dares not to talk to Russia because of fear, but seeing what is going on in Ukraine, even Iceland can defeat Russia.

I know he can't win a nuclear war against NATO, but what happens to the human race afterwards? Polluted waters and land...have you watched the documentary on the Hiroshima and Nagasaki atomic bombs. No one wants to practically find the capability of either side's arsenal or the potential aftereffects of a nuclear war. Everyone needs to stay level headed. Carrot and & stick should go a long in resolving this issue.

Any itchy finger pulls the trigger first, MAD (mutually assured destruction) is guaranteed!

Obviously Putin miscalculated, he didn't see all this happening so fast and more would still happen.

Worse of it all was failing to capture Kiev in less than a week of invading Ukraine.

Don't mistake Poland for Ukraine.

Poland is stronger than Ukraine by all military standard.

Polish people suffered during soviet rule. Hitler iand stalin invaded Poland and partitioned the country. After the fall of nazi, soviets ruled the country. After gaining freedom, Poland quickly join NATO.

One way or another they will have to be recognised to end the current crisis. The Minsk Agreement tried to address that.

Kiev's persecution of indigenous Russians has divided the country. Banning Russian language and culture is a war crime and Nazis move. I wonder why the world is blind to that. Ukraine is a horrible country and even after this war I don't see Ukraine surviving it's internal civil wars as the west continue arming and training the right sector with Nazis ideology.

Separatist movement will become the new Arab spring and that will wear out USA and NATO. One of Putin’s strategies.

The sanctions from the West will definitely slow down Russia's economy for a while,but abyss this war could have been avoided by Ukraine if the government wasn't stupid enough to be manipulated by the West.

Let him try this because NATO held a highly classified meeting and Biden flew to Brussels to attend. The meeting was to all about preparation incase Putin chooses to use that route. So far NATO has been watching him, but let him not cross the line.
