Hey man! I successfully received my visa. The info and advice you gave me, especially with the foreign sponsor notarization stuff, really helped me out with the visa application so I'm deeply thankful for your help. I don't know how to express my gratitude online in a stronger way, so please accept my sincerest thank yous.

Hey guys,

I recently received my student visa from the Polish Embassy (not in Nigeria unfortunately) and this site and especially one kind soul has been instrumental in my application. I'd like to give back to this site since reading past posts really helped me out with my situation. So if you have questions that I can answer, please send me them and I'll try my best to answer all of them from my recent experience smiley

If it helps, this is the profile of my application:

1: My father sponsored me and he works abroad, so I think foreign sponsors do work given that you provide all the necessary requirements and verification to prove relation. The documents I recommend you to provide are: notarized sponsorship letter, payslips extending from the past 6 months, salary certificate/letter of employment which includes joining date and have been signed and stamped by the employer confirming your sponsors status of working in that company, birth certificate or family registry proving relation with your sponsor. If your birth certificate and family registry are not in english, have them translated to english/polish by a sworn translator and if possible also notarize them as true copy so that the embassy will know for certain your relation. Payslips & letter of employment MUST be originals, so you don't have to notarize them

2: In my case I was already studying in the University there so I just had to prove my student status to the embassy. I did this by providing the following documents: Confirmation of student status and of having no debt with the university, proof of all tuition fees payment, student ID/Card/other identification, and Transcript of Grades from the University

3: I received a lease agreement from my private accommodation so I dont know how it would work with University dormitories unfortunately. I believe you should ask your dormitory for a document of confirmation of your status renting that dormitory with proof of payments and length of stay in dormitory. Remember that the length of stay should ideally match the length of your Visa duration

4: I was overzealous with providing documents but I think they helped in convincing the embassy that there could be no doubts in the data of my application. So I recommend providing all documents that can help you with strengthen your argument to obtain the student visa, be they important things like a TOEFL or IELTS certificate to prove mastery in English or trivial things like a screenshot of your weekly subjects timetable schedule or your Polish public transport account. The idea is to give your embassy no reason to deny you.

5: I'm actually not from Nigeria or Africa so there might be differences here. From reading the past posts, I understand that you guys feel as if there's a stigma against Nigerians by the Embassy. Hopefully, that isn't true and that the embassy treats all applications equally with professionalism, regardless where they come from

I also understand that from reading the past posts that there is a stigma here where the people that succeeded in obtaining the Visa are silent and have left the site but the people that failed remain. I know that isn't true because the user CypherHendrix was kind enough to help me out, despite probably having already successfully received their own Visa. I'd like to return that kindness shown to me by helping you guys out as much as I can and for as long as I'm not busy.

Boss what if his cousin is in Poland, and he too is going to Poland and he mentions to them that he has a cousin in Poland, how will the situation be?
that would have been better.

Mr David, at exactly 7:34pm last night I sent you a group link. And for all those sending PMs to be added, trust me, I like to share information. And teach people.

But this is one group you don’t want to join if you’re particularly interested in Poland. Protect your positive spirits, please!

Ah I see, that is quite relieving to hear that I wont be told to provide any other special documents. I was actually prepared to include my mothers bank account statement just to prove that I sort-of have a local sponsor, even though bank account statements aren't really accepted as POFs. And yes, I will indeed be notarizing the sponsorship letter. Hopefully from the best law firm or high court I can find.

Once again, thank you so much Cypherhendrix. You are quite literally a life saver in how much stress and confusion you've saved me from. Hope you have a great weekend smiley
