In Africa, no police station will entertain such complaints because corporal punishment is part of disciplining children.

Some parents go too far when they decide not to spare the “ROD”. Children have been maimed out of anger by parents or other adults incapable of self-restraint.

In the West, it is a whole different story. You hear of parents being arrested for hitting their minor children for misbehaving.

How will you handle the incident?

True story of a Nigerian family in my neighborhood.

Case scenario: A mother hits her 15 y/o child and she tackles her down to the floor like a heavy-weight champion. Daddy intervenes and beats the crap out of the 15 y/o daughter.

Daughter calls police and have parents arrested. Father is charged with child-battery and BANNED from coming to the house till the daughter leaves the house at 18 years old.

Fast forward: Daughter is now 20 years old and lives alone with no contact with her parents. When she graduated from high school, her parents did not attend! They practically disowned her and gave her to the state to take care of.

The typical African parent is a bully. Children are beaten and tortured for no reason.
Children are beaten up for not understanding her schoolwork, Children are beaten up for getting sexually molested, Children are beaten up for crying from the previous beaten, Children are beaten up for not answering quickly enough, Children are beaten up for daring to have a different point of view.

In your example, how can a man and wife (two people) hit, tackle to the ground and beat the crap out of a 15 year old. Like 2 people to one person? Even if she was an adult and not their daughter, two people to one is an unfair situation.

What Nigerians and Africans refuse to learn is that violence destroys a country. See how all the violent countries are experiencing reduced GDP compared to those that are not. Africans will continue to create and breed monsters.

It will be very easy for a 15 year boy to rape and beat up a 6 year old child because he has been beaten to the point of trauma he feels its not a big deal, his mother's has beaten the house help to stupor, and his father has beaten his mother to stupor so violence is a part of life.

What is the point of beating a 15 year old.
Any correction not given before 12 might be a waste as character is already formed. What were the parents doing all those years.

As much as the situation is sad I see a silver lining. The girl is not all that useless because she actually graduated, meaning she has some sense. She should channel the rejection into something good and make good use of her life.

She is not the one who banned her father from the house. She did the natural thing: if I was been beaten up the most natural thing would be to call a higher authority for help.

I personally went through a similar experience with one of my daughters.
She loved to dress provocatively at THIRTEEN!

One day she wore this::
I appealed to her nicely that it was 42 degrees outside and she had to change this outfit it I would drive her to school.

She refused and did not take her to school. I don’t know how she got to school.

When she returned, I told her she could not enter my house o. I RIPPED THE SKIRT OFF HER ARSE RIGHT THERE BY THE MAILBOX with only her UNDERWEAR on her and locked her OUT OF MY HOUSE. She stayed in the garage and told her she should only come in to use the bathroom. She called the police and told them I was freezing her outside. grin

OMO!

See SWAT TEAM for front of my house? shocked

There were TEN of them in 6 police vehicles.
They told me I MUST LET HER INTO THE HOUSE. because it was too cold! I refused.
I told them it was her punishment for disobedience and she is locked out of my house for 4 hours.

I provided her with a space heater, some clothes, a pillow and blankets to SLEEP on the floor!

The police told me she had EVERY RIGHT to be inside the house. I told them to have me arrested if I was breaking any law.

The useless white cops left!
Imagine the embarrassment in front of ALL the neighbors? My husband was SPEECHLESS!

Nigerian parents who are convinced that hitting their children is part of nurturing them, are better off staying back in Nigeria where it is normalized and should not migrate to Countries that are strongly against such form of "disciplining" because those Countries' systems function without hitting children and we can't force them to accept the "Nigerian way'.....stay back in Nigeria, where childhood "brain resetting beatings" has produced Nigerian adults who are more respectful, more law-abiding, more hardworking, more empathetic, less tolerant of corrupt practices etc

On top of all the "African disciplining, the average African from 12 years is corrupt.
A westerner will turn a new leaf because he wants to be a better person, an African will turn a new leaf because there is a likelihood to be caught and disgraced or jailed.

At 12 years an African child in boarding house will try to BRIBE the gate men to let them go out indiscriminately. At 12 introducing their classmates to cultism as long as they do not get caught. At 12 multiple abortions claiming to be virgins. Certified runs girl at 15.
Upon all the disciplining.

No, africans are not law- abiding, empathetic and less corrupt. It was over here I saw that on a bus younger people stand up to allow older people, pregnant women and disabled people to sit down. I never saw it in Nigeria.

Over here UPS and DHL drops your package in front of your door. The package remains there until you come home at night and pick it. It cannot happen in Nigeria. Since I started buying cars I have locked car doors less than 5 times. Sometimes I forget to lock my door.

Upon all our discipline.

*Clarification:THE DAUGHTER TACKLED THE MOM TO THE FLOOR LIKE A PRO-WRESTLER and was beating the MOM! Not the other way round.

Now, your cases are quite EXTREME!
Not the norm in the Western world.
Beating kids has ABSOLUTELY ZERO effect for the better. You only prove you have anger- management issues or are frustrated with your stressful life.

There is a MAJOR difference between ABUSE and DISCIPLINE.

If you truly love your children, you will discipline them WITHOUT ABUSING THEM!

Many PARENTS do not know the difference because they were victims themselves!

Both of you in a way since you're supposed to be a team. Where did she get the clothes or money to buy them from?
You said she loved to dress provocatively, so it's something you let slide for a while.

I understand it's not easy, as a 13 year old, she doesn't get it. As an adult, she probably gets it now, I do aswell. Think back to when you were 13, she thought she was grown because her curves were coming in. Young girls who were allowed to dress however and act however were the type to have boyfriends too early and get pregnant while still a teen.

Well the police seems to agree with you so they left, you're lucky it could have gone left, they could have kicked down the door accuse you of sexual assault.

Is the pic your daughter at 13?

I don’t think you understand the mindset of teenagers. You can only talk. They will do what they want to do. If you react, you are giving them the greatest satisfaction.

They have been educated MANY TIMES. . . . Children wey dey buy dem own clothes ONLINE? grin Welcome to “the new age”!

You don’t know in this day and age children can get money from friends or sell some of their stuff? undecided

You can talk till your voice is gone, I choose ACTION only.

First, I change their schools or call the cops on them. Simple.✅

Second! Next! I only work from home! Thank MY GOD!✅

Otherwise, garri for don swallow mami wota tey tey! ONE PARENT HAS TO STAY HOME o! Good news! Working from home is an option.

Finally! Get a dog! Everybody coming near this house will think TWICE- including THE POLICE!✅

You and I have both been teenagers, so we both know the mindset. I already stated that I get it. The reason why they're doing what they they want is because they don't get it.

I know that
I agree with action aswell. I personally will get rid of any provocative clothing

Let me let you know how fast these little boys and girls can be IF YOU DO NOT PAY ATTENTION TO EVERY DETAIL.

1. Girls can suck **** to make money!✅
There are reports of 10 year olds having ****-sucking competitions in school bathrooms and behind school buses FOR MONEY!✅

2. I did not assault anyone. The police were infringing on my parental rights and thought they could intimidate me.

3. Yes! That little lady is 13!✅
We went to a kid’s party one day, before I knew what was happening, she had mascara and lipstick on. One DUDE called me and ask why I let her out of the house like that. I said I didn’t. She just went to the bathroom and did it. cheesy I totally ignored her. She wanted me to make a scene in public. I did not fall for it.

When we got home, we suspended her phone and electronic privileges for SIX MONTHS!✅

This is a STRAIGHT As student. We are talking TWO GRADE CLASSES above her age. But she wanno hang with the big girls! Some spoiled, rich white kids in their school are teaching them about “independence”! cheesy

I was a teenager in Nigeria, not in the US. We did not have such latitude.

This is the age of Snapchat and Tik Tok. You can’t compare.

Example:

I worked at a psych facility last year.
One 11 y/o boy was sent there by his mother or aunt/guardian. Guess what he was doing?

Back to that 11 y/o boy.
The mother complained that while she was at work, the little boy was SELLING IGBO- marijuana from her mail box! shocked
She called the police and had him ARRESTED!✅
They took him straight to a psych ward.
She was gonna kill him ke. So she just called the police instead.

Some people got a hold of him via TIk Tok and made him their “drug mule”!

I started receiving all kinds of packages from FedEx, Amazon, EBay and God knows where else. I warned all the children that if they order ANYTHING without my permission, I will confiscate it.✅

Yes! You call the police on your kids before they call the police on JHUOOO!
Let them start having a JUVVY RECORD WITH THE STATE- push it back to them.

Now, juvvy records are sealed for ONLY TWO YEARS, till you as a parent decide to seal it PERMANENTLY! kiss

If you DO NOT SEAL the juvvy record permanently, there are grave consequences for that unfortunate child.

As a child? The record follows you to adulthood.✅

1. You can’t join the army, navy or military.
2. No government scholarships or federal school loans.
3. The background check will have red flags for job applications.

Lol. Let me talk as a child that wore short shorts in Nigeria. I did not spoil or do bad things. Neither did I get derailed in life. My parents let us and none of me and my sisters got pregnant outside marriage. I think a harsh reaction makes kids do things you say they should not do. She can buy the short things and hide in her bag, look decent at home, when she gets outside she will change clothes. Have a talk with her and always tell her why you want her to dress more to your taste. That you dressed decently so your child must is not enough explanation these days.

At that 13 is when they have entered teenager stage. The boyfriends stage. This is where the real fight begins. But I think if you get to them first before the boys, especially their father, they will come out fine. If their father teaches them how to handle boys, no boys can deceive them. The makeup ties into that dating and looking attractive stage because, she is hitting puberty. Despite my indecent dressing, I did not have any sexual relations till much later. Most of my friends from strict parents started between 13-15. My father played a role in that, nothing man fit tell me that will make me off pant till I was ready to experience it. That was solely my decision, no one pressured me.

Growing breast and yansh and they see their peers doing it. In fact their peers teach them how to apply the makeup. They are also seeing relationships going on around them in school and they want to be attractive to the happening guys. Now is the time you need to sit her down and have the birds and the bees talk plus consequences of that. She’s very brilliant and people like that, all the forces on earth can try to derail them at a young age if you do not get ahead of it. You need to start talking to her and spending time with her Kanwulia before her friends and those Hot boys succeed. Don’t be too harsh with her please.

I don't feel comfortable that you exposed her body like that outside. It feels like sexual indecency or something along those lines.

Op, I think you violated her body and as a woman I don't know what you were trying to teach her. How would you feel if someone else had pulled her skirt of her body?

That's abuse to me and not discipline because I don't understand the message you were passing to her: Your skirt is small so I can expose you to the world. I don't get it. I'm not in your shoes so you could ignore me but I had to share my thoughts on your discipline tactics.

Right. Looking at her picture, not surprised seeing her. She does look alot older for her age.

Girls who matured much earlier were the ones who wanted to look grow beyond their years with revealing clothing and make-up. If your daughter was a tomboy or a late bloomer. She'll have wanted to look like a child for much longer.

@1Sharon

Now, juvvy records are sealed till you as a parent decide to seal it PERMANENTLY! kiss

If you DO NOT UNSEAL the juvvy record, there are grave consequences for that unfortunate child.

1. You can’t join the army, navy or military.
2. No government scholarships
3. The background check will have red flags for job applications.

Mogbeee. I thought you were going to say he started having sex.

Selling drugs, much worse embarassed

Child criminal.

As for me personally no 11 year old will have a phone.
