Let's say after getting the phone and it has some issues what will you do. In Nigeria, everybody is a potential thief just many haven't been given the opportunity yet. The only people I trust is my immediate family.

Before you blame me, pls I am not a novice. I have bought things from NL. My macbook, plenty phones and about 4 PS3s

They stole my phone last week and I came to NL to search for deals and get another one.

This gregswagzz posted mi 9t for 75k. Pls search his name on NL to see his profile

I contacted him on WhatsApp and we talked. I said I would use escrow but he said he doesn't use escrow.

I know a lot of sellers don't like using escrow. Even when I got my macbook from Fluxempire, I didn't use escrow. In this case, I make sure the account is not new and that the person has always been posting.

I checked him up, his account is over 9 years old and I noticed he has posted a lot of things on NL.

Still, I said I can't pay that I will only pay if he can take my phone to park the following day, call me on video call and then I will pay.

He did exactly that yesterday, we video called, I saw the phone wrapped and my details on it.

I told to switch to back camera and I noticed its really Peace Park office. He later got the drivers number for me to track the driver. He also kept in touch with me yesterday but today, I went to park, they said I need a code to get the package.

He didn't give me a code. He is not replying on WhatsApp and the driver's number is not going too. Since this morning. His number is not going like he has blocked me.

I have his account details I sent money to. Pls who can help me!

I searched for his profile, I didn't see it, he probably de-activated it.

Some of you are just plain stupid. How on earth will i buy something from someone I barely know online in another state? With these rampant cases of scammers everywhere. Carry money go shop na..
You're honestly foolish. If anything is not face to face. Or except from a certified seller.do not engage.
Use sense. This is not 1990. Everybody now is a potential scammer.

In one of his posts on the item he was selling, he made mention of travelling. Travelling to God knows where - it could be Togo, Cotonou or Ghana.

Tips to all buyers
Always conduct a background check on who u are dealing with. Do a thorough investigation with their real names, phone numbers, NL posts, always have a leverage on them incase sh*t goes South. If you have done a background check and found no leverage please back out of the deal. Honest people have nothing to hide.

Relax, your money will surely locate u. We gather dey here.

It's like u r not serious on getting ur money back.

Yesterday a scam case was also resolved on this NL phone section and the scammer paid back.

Put up full details of the guy, every information about him and pictures if u have them too.

Op you made a very big mistake by paying first without seeing your goods. MAcbeland that is a trusted customer here, when I first order the first redmi note 8 from him I have to confirm the phone in the car park before transferring the money to him. It was when I bought my poco x3 pro that I did the transfer b4 him sending the phone to me cos I've already trusted him. Now they have left you behind.

Go to the park in your state and present this details. They will fish the driver out, you can build your case from there.

You can never be careful enough with online purchases. Especially online purchases from individuals.

Why do we like to shame the victim? There's nothing foolish in trusting a fellow human being, man is a social animal and trust should be the glue that should hold the human society together.

It is indeed a big disaster that trust no longer exist in Nigeria, that is why every thing has gone downhill for the country!

The OP should have gone to slot or any of the reputable phone dealers in Nigeria. There is Jumia there is Konga. But no, some Nigerians like to look for trouble.

Online purchase of goods is no longer trustworthy.You for tell am to do a video with the driver while you speak directly to him and also send you the waybill number.One on one business is the ultimate.
Meanwhile Post his number here.Let's bombard him with calls to refund your money or get arrested.

I mean what's 75k that you're making such a big fool of yourself?
I once sold a redmi phone to a certain man in onitsha, from PH no video call or registrations wahala
He even sent me the money in full first
And i sent the package to him
The man was shocked to have gotten the package as expected
Praises here and there unto me i was like its nothing.
Please let's do things nobler.
