What a heart wrenching heart break for Algeria at home. If Nigeria had lost this way, after winning the away leg, what happened in Abuja would have been child's play.

Football ain't scripted.

O boy, I have never in my entire life seen a coach cry like a baby, The Algerian coach cried, cried and cried.
The finishing of that goal was a top notch.

I dey always tell my folks : Julius Aghahowa was the last Eagles player to play with heart. Maybe only Osimhen now, but it's unfortunate that he's surrounded by mediocre players who're happy having just money. Typical Naija mentality.

Like most people suffering from chronic anxiety I couldn't watch live pictures of the game prefering to google the score line periodically as the match unfolded.. Lol I live in a quiet environment at such the first goal at the 22nd minute wasn't evident. (Normally jubilant cries from neighbours should indicate a goal). To my relieve googling at the 37th minute indicated we were a goal ahead and heads on aggregate.

Uneasily I kept googling, hoping for a second goal that should automatically carry us to Qatar. When I checked at the 116th minute it was obvious we were headed for a tie and consequently penalty shootouts. To my greatest shock googling at the 120+2 indicated the Algerians had scored at the 118th minute. Imagine my disappointment..

That was it for the night as I tried to distance my thoughts away from football and a Qatar absence. Naturally I would have retired to bed but prefered to distract a little with my phone. Five minutes later I noticed jubilant memes on the status of most of my contacts. This should be a night of mourning I sighed, so why is everyone celebrating. Then I inquired from a contact and got the shock of the evening. Cameroon had scored at the the 124th minute. I couldn't believe. A true replay of the third placed AFCON match with Burikina Faso. Only this time the joy was overwhelming...One of those nights where I can gladly express my pride as a Cameroonian ..Allez les Lions...

They made QF in their 2nd participation and coz of them Africa got more spots.They have the highest participation rate in Africa.It’s not coz Nigeria didn’t make it that you should get too high.It’s just a game.

Most successful? How? Senegal got to QF at their first try. Ghana did the same at their 2nd attempt. How many attempts did Cameroon make before they got to QF?

I'm not in anyway belittling Cameroon and their achievements. Just want to know what metric(s) you evaluated before concluding that Cameroon is Africa's most successful team at the Football World Cup

Gernot Rohr qualified us for the World Cup with game to spare. Some said ‘wetin this oyinbo coach dey do wey our local coach no fit do. They sacked him and we can’t even reach the World Cup.

In fact the tactical brains Ghana assembled was far far better than the Nigerians. Otto Addo( part of Dortmund technical staff), George Boateng(Aston Villa under 23 coach), Cris Hughton(renowed coach in the EPL) all put together to handle Ghana. Look at how they change their tactic in the second half to sustain the pressure. Ghana knew they didn't have the materials to face Nigeria but they had plans to put together tacticians to embark on this journey. Nigeria didn't have such men on their bench. Ghana had a plan but Nigeria was dwelling on their big name players.
