Those complaints are from people who only watch Popcorn movies and cannot identify a good story or good directing...

People like that will also call Mr Robot boring when we know Mr Robot was a masterpiece of the director...

That movie alone is iconic for the superhero genre as it paved the way for modern day superhero films to have any hope in winning major Oscar awards. If not for that film, I no sure say them go nominate even Joker for Best Picture. That film is also the first superhero film to hit $1bn at the box office. Funny thing is, it did that without China.

funny thing is when The Dark Knight came out I didn't watch it...
It wasn't until 2019 that I did...and I finally understood why it's the best Superhero movie

That movie is very ICONIC not because of Batman but because of The Joker and Harvey Dent performances. Imagine two actors overshadowing Christian Bale in a movie.

I think the major reason you won't watch it is because the movie is an average movie that's not memorable. If it was a major successful blockbuster, you'd forced to overlook the scene and watch it.
