This is one of the reasons unions should be banned. In a free market, drivers who are not satisfied should quit the platform. You can go and do yellow cab if you think you are the reason the platform makes money. People patronise Uber and Bolt not you the driver so organising a cult to force higher fares is devilish and anti-competition. Now they will probably form gangs around to attack Ubers and Bolt drivers that did not join their idiocy.

It’s justified due to the rising costs of commodities. However, drivers are know to be one of the most uncoordinated people. While some are on strike demanding for better welfare, others will still be working to capitalize on the surge demands.
Hopefully, you guys can pull this through.
this time, it'll be coordinated! If you must work, use other alternate Apps, if you're stopped and found online on Bolt and Uber, the consequences will be dire, that's why we are giving atleast 1 month notification so that we can all plan towards it!

Compliance is mandatory meaning they will beat and intimidate drivers who don't comply

Not beat but impound their cars, this is a movement for all so why can't they comply?
When the app company heed to their demands, they will enjoy it too so why can't they comply to the majority.

This is really a funny one! Customers won’t support you guys, since we are looking for cheap rides and fares. You guys are on your own..

The ride isn't for everyone, take danfo or keke if you can't afford it.

This strike is funny. It's not like the drivers are employees, they willingly accepted terms and conditions for using an app, now they want to form a cult to force a platform they willingly agreed to work with to bend to their will.

Not saying Uber and bolt are saints, but if you feel dissatisfied simply leave na aaa. Instead of forcing everyone, lolz. By the time they start facing driver shortages they'll surely do something to woo them back.

Go learn more about partnership

Where are you striking to? They will just allow you to strike for 6-weeks, by the time hunger touches you small, you will beg to call off the strike.
You think Nigeria works like the UK?

Hunger?
Before the app came into existence, were people not doing car drop and hire without going hungry?

As humans nothing is 100%. When have our registered members nationwide key into this, the message would be loud and clear enough. We expect non registered members like yourself to look at the demands spelt above and question their conscience if what the drivers are demanding for is out of place. We have lost fathers, husbands, brothers to criminals who pose as passengers due to no form of verification of passengers. I know we live in a lawless country but things can NOT continue like this.

So what I painted earlier was a hypothetical scenario. I'm not an uber driver but I know some folks with really fancy recent model vehicles registered on Uber for the fun of it. If you and your group go on strike, there will be a surge on these platforms and folks like those will "break strike" and provide services in say Lekki and whatever high brow location in Abuja. I'm thinking of the how legal it will be for you guys stopping people from providing driver service

Go and find work na. Go and start your own business. It is not by force to be an Uber or Bolt driver.

Bros, if Uber and Bolt is not favouring you, turn your car to full blown taxi and charge people whatever you like. Every Sane person in this business knows the job is just a means to an end. A lot of drivers have other sources of income and they don't really give 2 bleeps about all this things. I know I don't lol

With this your mentality, that's how foreigner will enter your country and enslave your people with peanuts and you will be telling your people to leave the company and find another means of survival, tell me how you're building better standard of living for your people.

This is one thing US and other advance countries can't condone cux they won't let any foreigner establish business in their country only to not set good pricing or remuneration for their citizens.

I spit on that rubbish you said.
Tomorrow will come, you will open that your odor mouth to condemn government when you yourself is in support of companies enslaving people.

You're the one that is closed minded. If you and members of your Union want to go on strike, please by all means do. But the moment you start forcing people who do not belong to your union to do your bidding, that's crossing a line.

And drivers that are not part of this Union will it be legal to impound their cars?

Stop been overly emotional, this won't fly.
It's best to have a proper dialogue with these company than trying to arm twist them with a strike action that's bound to fail.

I can assure you that the planned strike action with be a huge failure, mark my words and my Monika, quote me end of next month if the strike succeeds.

Logic beats emotions everytime it comes down to business.
