You actually felt you typed something smart but this is the dumbest shiiiit I have read in a while.

It's not Rocket science putting together a steel plant and to be frank the Russian parts are mostly obsolete now so a lot of new parts would be required and for most steel plants is majorly a plug and play installation.

Most parts are interchangeable so stop capping. You make it look like the Russian parts were written in special code which needs to be deciphered or something.

The FG definitely took these British on inspection and they presented their recommendations prior to being given the job or you think everything was done over zoom call?

Guy go and sit down somewhere and learn some more

Trying to banter to have some of my shine rubbed on.

My dear then why has all turn around maintenance since 2001 failed to get it operational even for a single day?

China and overproduction! So, even with Russian and Ukrainian steel out of the market, there's still a glut because of China! Can Ajaokuta steel compete with Chinese prices? grin grin grin grin grin

Yes. We're in building phase of our own industries behind the scenes. I'll be on national TV from this year though. Not to worry, I'll take the ideas on the forum to the national audience..

You're deceiving yourself. How will British do turn around maintenance for installations that were installed by Russians from the onset with all units and components up till manual written in Russian language and heavily dependent and reliant on Russian engineering tech?.

Its what happens when people get overly sensational all of a sudden. Russia since USSR has been very good to Nigerians, don't lift a finger in a battle that is bigger than you.

Now to the core issue at hand. The Ajaokuta steel complex was developed by the country by the Russians from the very onset and the Russians took pre-emptive measures to ensure anything around it is done through them and them only.

Almost the entire schematics have Russian inscriptions and manuals and operators needed to be solely trained by Russians to operate them

Secondly, some of the core operational resources used in the production chain line can only be supplied by Russia. No other nation on earth has these highly specialized resources and components

Hence, nothing can be done to Ajaokuta steel complex without the Russians.

Why then has it been made useless for over two decades without use as other like steel industrial complexes.

Here lies what the whites are not telling you guys. British and Russians alike. I know these well hidden truths first hand, cause as a genius with 160+ IQ, I'm privy to highly classified information across these complex issues. Saying this humbly. Though

To make any nation great, one doesn't need politicos, lack of corruption like APC and PDP have both been throwing banters for years

To make any nation great, a nation needs key things like :

Highly operational chemical industrial completed, highly optimized metal refining and processing complex which ranks as the core bedrock of all forms of heavy productivity and industrialization.

So, here's the bane of the matter, take away any nations ability to heavily produce, refine nd process metals and such a nation becomes useless. I dare to say it anywhere

Mind you guys, between 2001 and today over $60 Billion has been spent on revamping the steel complex in batches of $2- $20 Billion for every time it hits the news that repairs are been done.

Guess what guys, it takes average of $15-20 Billion dollars to build a modern one

Same strategy to make the oil and gas industry useless is what's playing here to. The oligarchist and the deliberate desire to keep the nation under developed is the motive behind this.

Who knows if Dangote will also spot this opportunity.

You're spot on until you said NO OTHER NATION ON EARTH CAN DO AJAOKUTA STEEL COMPLEX LIKE RUSSIA.
That's a big fat lie.
The technology can't be the intellectual property of only Russia.
The British firm will only change some core components and replace them with theirs, twick whatever needs to be done and get the complex back and running.
You can't tell me that Russia has superior steel processing technology than Germany USA, France, UK and Japan.

It was carried out by the Soviet union and not Russia.

By the way, A blast furnace steel plant is not rocket science that nobody else can fix. Not Britian of all nations.

How much information do you have about ASCO.

On this thread, I can easily know who knows whats you. Besides, the issue will ASCO in beyond the contractor or technology. If not the indians wouldn't have left.

Answer this question. Since 2001 the same complex has undergone mtiple maintanence. Has it ever been operational for a single hour, not even day?

You have no first hand Intel.

A blast furnace is no rocket science. The only reason the steel plant in Nigeria is in-operational is logistics.

The blast furnace does not even run on coal.

What?!!! Coal is an essential and unavoidable raw material in the production of iron and steel in a blast furnace. One doesn't even need to have a degree in chemistry to know this. Please see the links below.

Frankly speaking, the country is throwing money down a black hole.

With a glut of Chinese steel, Nigeria would be better off importing steel. It is not compulsory that the country produces steel. This is the 21st century. Steel production can even be classified as a low-tech industry. Cars are even mid-tech when you think of nanotechnology and superconductors.

We need stell industries sir. Why?

Job creation

Society retains the skill

Heavy job creation

One steel industry can employ 300,000 persons. We need it, inspite of cheap Chinese steel

Just like how dangote refinery triggers fertilizer production and pharmaceuticals, a functional steel industry will trigger non metals and chemicals industry which we need

Cry and wail all you want, he is the president and has taken decision on the approach he considered best for the country and a lot of consultation must have been made with experts in the industry before he arrived at that point.

You on the other hand who knows next to nothing other than insulting him from morning till night can continue wailing all you want, it won't change nadda.

So happy wailing with useless epistles on nairaland and other social media. undecided

Well I don't know the angle you are talking from but honestly if you are not just political about the case, taking Ajaokuta steel project from Russia is just a blunder. This is not wailing please but critical truth.

Russia should never come back to Ajaokuta again and ever because they have been the one handling that shit Ajaokuta for decades siphoning billions of our money to their country with nothing return to us and no success in the steel company so Bleep them.

These bastards lived like Kings going to the steel site in helicopters till they were booked out and never again Russia in Ajaokuta.

I don't know if you have worked in a refinery before. But if you haven't and you compare and contrast machineries, let's say Dangote Sugar and BUA/Flour Mill, u will immediately change this your perception.
You have mentioned reasons as to why things are being impeded in a country as ours. But as to whether the Englishman or Indians can't, that's a fallacy. Where one machinery(Old RUSSIAN) is doing a single function, a new machinery(Indian or English) might incorporate two to three functions and so, there are some parts in the refinery that might have to be removed(obsolete).
The thing is, there should be truth, openness in what government is doing. The bad players in the game are the ones dictating the result.

My dear. I received the direct report on the steel plant years ago. So I say what I'm saying with full confidence. You can place a bet 5 M we set date keep the money with someone if the Britain's can fix it even in three years

It is the corruption in the system.
We like repairing and revamping what should be scrapped and a new one built from the scratch.
I understand and agree with your point that the complex was built by Russians and it will be difficult for other nationals to decipher its intricacies and complexities.
But if the will power is there, a brand new complex can be started and completed in four years.
You were right. Just that you exaggerated in your claim that ONLY RUSSIA has the technology.

Its already late for the president to revive Ajaokuta before leaving office. 7 years gone without doing anything in Ajaokuta, and the president thinks he can revive Ajaokuta in One year?

I will advice the president to rather start preparing his handing and taking over notes instead of any busy body project at this eleventh hour. Or maybe, the president wants to use Ajaokuta project as last settlement for his fulani brothers before leaving office.

How dumb can you be by assuming those who wish to fix the steel plant are it core professionals with a track record.

Or you think the $2b the FG released for the turnaround maintenance was done without a check and a quote given by same firm since they would be handling it?

You think the FG just picked up the phone and said to them "Hey James we have a steel mill we need you work on for us, here is $2b, go get it done"?

I doubt if you have ever worked in any sort of a professional environment in your life so I forgive your ignorant lengthy write up
