Bro don't mind any of the lies Russia put forward for their unprovoked aggression. Their aim is just to restore the old soviet union and put the world under tension once again.
Russia and the US, the leading NATO member, are very close to each other in the east. USAID has been operating in Russia since creation, feeding and providing humanitarian services to Russia's poor population.
Like you've stated, there are many NATO members that share border with Russia and Russia has been doing business with them for years without issues.
A great deal of Russia's wealth that they invest in building weapons to threaten others rather than taking care of its citizens, come from trade with NATO countries.
NATO is a defensive alliance, not an aggressive one and Russia knows that. As long as Russia doesn't attack them, they won't attack Russia.
