Onome Onome Onome Ebi.... She needs a replacement, this Younger Center Backs need to step up, the pace of the game is getting higher her experience and how she position is really working in her favour
Akudo Ogbonna did very well today. She's a young CB

This is the 3rd player that coach has snuck into this team. IMO she doesn't deserve to be there over Flourish Sabastine.
I fancy having Flourish in the team, but I'll prefer it happens after the world cup.

"Snuck" may not be the appropriate word to characterise what happened. It's no news many of the girls had Visa problem, reason why a couple of our first team players didn't make the trip. According to the coach, he remembered Onyi from his recruiting days and gave her a call. She obviously didn't have visa issues cause of the US passport so her presence is justifiable, she also gave a good account of herself in my opinion.

She gave away the ball that led to the second goal. She lost possession a number of times, but she didn't do badly. The future has a lot in store for her.

I was wrong I just heard the coach talk about it. My apologies to the gaffer on that

Good game
Hope they get a win in the next match

Flourish can be named in the provisional squad for AWCON and if she perform in training the coach can take her to the tournament

Wrong Wrong Wrong.... You shouldn't be saying this, didn't you see the VISA issue on ground, what do you expect the Coach to do when there where no players available...

Let's allow Flourish to perform at the U20 FIFA Women's World Cup first before integrating her into the Superfalcon.. She will definitely break in within a short period of time, I will definitely pick her ahead of Monday Gift..

You guys ain't even talking about Rasheedat Ajibade work in the Midfield. Did you guys see her at all, Ajibade gets better and better with each game for the Superfalcon..

Payne Sisters as our Wing Backs, I love that. Tony Payne is a Blessing to the team her versatility melt my heart...

21years Nicole Payne is full of Pace and Energy, but her end product isn't there yet still can't blame her cause she's still in College and will definitely grow and time goes on.. Hopefully when she graduates next year if she doesn't take up the Additional one year as a Senior College Player then Going Pro Straight should be the Best...

Well he could have taken Flourish, Onyenezide and Abiodun from the beginning grin

I already heard his explanation and tendered an apology but I am watching him.

AkinDS:
Half time.
Naija started to get into the rhythm after the 20th min. Playing very well and putting the Canadians under pressure.
I believe the SF have had more corners that the Canadians so far.
Players:
Ajibade has been superb in the midfield.
Ucheibe has really surprised me - she has been very good with her overall play and has looked very comfortable in her role as DM. I would pick her over Otu by just what I have seen so far.
Nicole Payne has been very good in her first start for the SF. Playing as left wing back, she has used her pace defensively and offensively. Very impressive.
Plumpter has kept things very simple.
Reassuring to have Nnadozie as goalie. Been rock solid so far.

Considering the poor prep, I must say I am proud of our performance so far against a powerhouse as Canada. We've kept it simple and have been very disciplined.
Let's see how the 2nd half goes.
Kudos AkinDS

It's still an open Competition between the two of them who's the Best Defensive Midfielder..

Can't pick Christy Ucheibe over Regina Otu yet.. Have watched both Closely from 2018 till date, they're currently the most Combative Defensive Midfielder we have now but i still give it to Otu who's more of a Clinical ball winner than Ucheibe...

Why u use style to avoid speaking on Akudo Ogbonna grin

Rasheedat was good but why would you expect people to go crazy about an attacking midfielder in a 2-0 loss? Plus she did have that crazy moment where she lost the ball in her box. She either got too confident or tired. Loved the long range strike and her handling of the ball although she sometimes hung on a little too long.

Toni payne is a star on this team. Nicole will only get better. It was a great joy watching both play together. Toni said they had never played together before since she is 6 years older, so that was the first time their parents watched them start a match together.

Akudo Ogbonna is doing well at her age and still very young and open for improvement, am very much certain that she's good enough to understudy Ebi and Ohale. Randy have tried some other Home based players in the Center Back position before and they didn't live up to the billing, Akudo is already growing into the Position thanks to the Absence of Osinachi Ohale, if she was to be present Akudo wouldn't get to play or maybe come from the bench..

One thing Akudo lack's is that big stage Confidence which the likes of Plumptre and Nicole Payne have... Let's give her some time and see how she improves...

Rasheedat Ajibade is good and doing well but the few things i notice about her game is that she tend to hold on to the ball longer than expected which lead to her losing it in awkward position... Need to improve on her when to pass and when to hold on to the ball, this is where Tony Payne is far ahead of 90% of them...

Nicole Payne looks like the fastest player on the pitch yesterday, I remember when Tony posted on her Instagram page asking her follower who's faster between the two of them and they were all picking Nicole...
There's no way she isn't going to be picked for the NWSL Draft after graduation except she chooses to move to Europe immediately after College without waiting for the Draft which comes up in January yearly, her pace and strength set her up ahead of her Mates, she just need to improve on her passes and pullouts, and also learn how to take setpieces..

Anyway Kudos to the whole team they did well, hopefully we would get to see a better performance next game..

Correct me between Oluwatosin Demehin and Akudo Ogbonna who looks better?

Onyenezide small but mighty Midfielder...

Why is it that some players looks good at Clubside and coming to the National Team they're not there, or should I say not good enough for the National Team but good enough (key Player) for her Clubside

I was really impressed with Ajibade yesterday. She was a star in the midfield yesterday, especially at the first half. Of course she held on to the ball for too long at some point and sometimes lost the ball, I also think the attack played a role in this. Wasn't particularly impressed with our attack yesterday. I'm excusing yesterday's performance to fatigue, but they hardly made any successful runs, and our best chances came from outside shots by Ajibade and Toni Payne. Hopefully they rise to the occasion in the second game.

I'm impressed with the team whole Performance this Morning, according to Randy they only trained for 1hour due to the late arrival and Visa Issues unlike the Canadian side who had enough time to prepare and with their Complete Squad...

Kudos to the ladies, but there's room for improvement!

How about Ashleigh Plumptre performance??

Ash didn't do badly, though I think the defence lost shape in the second half and made silly mistakes. I shouted at some point when a dribble in our box almost led to goal instead of them clearing out. We also did badly with the set prices, but again, I think fatigue set in. The next game will help us access better.

Worth mentioning is Ashleigh's contribution to the midfield. She made some impressive passes too.

What do you think of Coach Eucharia? I knew her personally at the time she had the job. Felt she should have been given more time as she didn't do badly.

Plumptre didn't look that good. In fact Akudo was better than her. Her side was targeted by the Canadians and she could have done better on both goals.

I can't remember Akudo being in trouble but I didn't watch the full match.

Nicole was a track star in high-school so that's expected. I liked her tenacity and fighting spirit.

From this Canada match, the ladies need to be put through rigorous setpieces training. Everyone should know where to be and who to mark. I hate that they're like 7in the box and two shirts come between them to cause terror and they're all taken unawares. Whoever played 3 needs to be talked to. They exploited that part well. And setpieces when attacking too. This has never been addressed, just like the same for the men's team. Is this a curse?

Lovely chances from Ajibade and Payne. If Ebi has forgotten he marking skills she should be spoken too. We don't need anyone distracted or taken unawares at the WWC.

Nnadozie to me is ready for anything right now and im happy about that. But we should also expect Oluehi to be ready as well. I don't know how much their passing Accuracy is, but it better be commendable.

And addressing this fatigue moments, the best way out of it is ball possession. Less running and more passing. It will save their strength. I hate that they zap out while the opponent is energetic and still hungry for pounds pf flesh and they just stroll like they don't care anymore. That's why i want younger ones in the middle, not senior mamas. Sincerely. An 18yr old will just flash past them like flash and they can't even do nothing.

Any team preparing against Falcons will use this to beat us anyday.

What's our gameplan for getting behind defences? I saw none of that vs Canada? We can't be relying on individual brilliance like in past years. Someone will say its just a friendly but we should be doing and showing readiness by now.

Long range strike around 80 min. At 88 minutes she wins a ball in front of her box and gets elbowed in their face for good measures.

93 minute mark. Ripped her opponent of the ball and put in a fine pass to get Onyi Echegini on her way. Onyi ended with a shot on target.

You’ve raised cogent points, especially pertaining to defending set pieces.

Waldrum may have to instruct the ladies to revert to woman to woman marking because zonal marking causes them to look confused whenever a corner kick or free kick is swung into the box

U are absolutely right. Everyone was ball watching instead of attacking the ball.
