Yeah, I started off as a newbie. It really took the person that gave me the car some COURAGE and LET ME GIVE YOU A TRY before he could hand over the car to me, cos they all prefer an experienced Uber/bolt driver.
Much respect, boss.

First suggestion, be safety conscious. Be sure you know the person , if not , then have their details which may involve ID Cards or pic with social media handle… also let them be aware u are sharing it. Why? Cos Abule Ado is not safe at night . So its for both safety.

Now , to the question.

Just charge for a day, cos this journey no matter the time will get u in multiple traffics and hours of driving (longer than going to ogun state and back).

Simply 20-35k depending on ur client.

grin you can not waste money on this hustle joor, the difference between us and part dealer is not up to 1 inch. Parts plenty for store.

My point exactly is what if I end up buying another radiator but find out it's something else that is responsible. I'd like to start with the little things like radiator cap, water pump, probably washing the radiator as well...

Haha. Baba. Agbede dey that side now... (take a bike to where they are selling spare parts around igando, look for where they fix broken headlamps and taillights, ask for agbede there,

Try what I told you first. The water is supposed to circulate freely within the internal fins. Once 3 or 4 of the fins are blocked. Water won't circulate freely, making water to quickly evaporate from the radiator

You have to be there in person to see it yourself, I'm sure some of the radiator fins are clogged.

I will take time out on Tuesday to look for the place.

Corolla is just a breathe of fresh air. Now I see why it is very popular in this country. It’s been 6 months since I got my Corolla and apart from going for servicing once in awhile I’ve not had any reason to visit any mechanic despite my rough handling. cheesy

Wetin my Honda Accord use my eye see last year till I sold it. God forbid!
The same Corolla my neighbor is using,?
anyways just get a good car and be maintaining it it will serve well.
By the way all things being equal normally your toks car shouldn't give you problems under six months.

[s] The reality is that those that drive 8 - 12hrs daily may never be able to walk again by the time they get to 50yrs. With all the other health challenges enumerated here so far, your legs would have been gone, your sight gone, that's a fact. People don't really understand the long term effect of driving this long because ehailing is relatively new in the world but only time will tell.

A little bit of caution should be applied while on it. Think of your health, think of being healthy and alive for your family when you start getting old. This hustle can take a serious health toll on someone as far as Lagos is concern. Extreme caution needed.

Like I usually say, it's not a full time business, never was, will never be.[/s]

I am sorry to say but this is all thrash.

What of people who have been driving trucks for decades and retired and lived healthy lives? Both here and abroad people drive for a living and retire with gratuity. They have vacations and and go on working leave for a few weeks in the year and back to the road. Why haven’t they gotten blind or lame?

You guys just come here speaking stuff you haven’t verified or that hasn’t been proven scientifically in any way and lead people astray for no reason.

Okay, those bankers that started working from age 25 and retired by age 55 and sit down at their desks from 8am to 4pm between breaks of an hour max why haven’t they become lame yet? Or are you saying that all chairs in offices are more comfortable than chairs in cars?

See my people if you don’t take care of your health even if you sleep 24hrs a day you’d get ill and surely have bed sores.

Anybody saying those that drive for a living will get ill health in their old age specifically because of it IS A VERY GIANT LIAR!!!

Fully ready. My previous car gave me no breathing space from day 1.
The car wasn't good from day one then, this has got nothing to do with brand here.
I have seen Corollas that came into this country without a working Engine, in fact it was written on the body non started by oyibo.
And water was gushing out of the exhaust pipe, na flood things.
But once it gets to dealer's hand they will fix everything and that car will be giving the unfortunate buyer headaches, car was very clean but water don damage a lot of things.
There was even water inside the tank.

These policemen intention put the One-way symbol on an entrance of one street like that, very close to Bolade Oshodi.
Be like they go cut small banner in circular form to make the O shape with the one-way symbol and paste in on one stick and put it ok the entrance of that street, there's no way you go see that sign where dem mount it. Na their oga enter my car say make we drive to their station with plenty arrested drivers following as if we were on escort duty, grin
When we got to their station, come see cars they arrested. grin
That was a pure intentional trap - cos their oga dey charge between 20k - 15k for bailing, so that victims go pay easily. When we know the penalty for a real one-way offence. Come see as we dey pay to bail our cars comot, their oga dey collect money on the street openly and he was dipping the money in his pocket and release our keys as we dey pay.

You are wrong with your assertion.

Keep your eyes open for signs while driving and you shall pay no one.
Your experience with driving in lagos will also determine how you pay.

Many of the drivers never had experience driving on lagos before taking up uber driving hence why a lot of you would say you must pay fines.

I haven't paid anyone since 2018 I have been driving on the platforms.

Boss, my experience yesterday has opened my eyes oooh, I agree that commercial driving in Lagos - I'm new to it - cos ma request carried me go that side.
Like today I was driving a rider to somewhere around apapa, I drove reach a Y junction and with those police men standing with their pick up, na so I was scanning for the one-way signs, as I no see, I just brake say I no dey enter anywhere today, cos those police looked like they were waiting for us to enter their trap, as dem see say I no gree enter any of the road, dey just waved me a hand to drive pass the left that I can go.
Since yesterday like this, my eyes don open, the way I dey scan places, you will think I'm a cyborg.
I knew I would enter one trap sha ni, but thank God it wasn't serious.
But truth be said, those police intentionally placed that's one-way sign in a hidden spot, cos many cars were arrested and why were dey charging 20k-15k? When we know the real one-way penalty.
Well, I learned my lesson sha.
You can't compare yourself with others. grin
Much respect, boss.
