Pls I just realised I can’t travel with Lufthansa into the US and cancelled my ticket.

I’m flying from Abv with no direct flights

Is B1/B2 allowed to fly into the US now?

Also can I fly with Turkish airline into the US? Has anyone tried this recently?

Or do I have to go to LAGOS and fly through delta?
Awaiting your response as I need to get my ticket ASAP. Thanks

However i’ll be flying to kentucky to see a family friend and stay with him till i resume in january. Hope this won’t give issues at the POE as i won’t be flying directly to minnesota?

You can go ahead with your plan, I don't think staying a few days in Kentucky should be an issue, just be prepared with your reason.

Just to share my experience.
I travelled with Turkish Airlines (very long layover almost 10hrs).
What I was asked:
- what am I here for?
-how long am I staying?
- what was my travel route to the US
- Did I buy any tickets before to come to the US
- How much did I bring?
- take off your mask for capture
-Enjoy your stay in the US

There was no secondary check; no one asked anything; could also be because my flight got in around 8pm.

Also at Istanbul I was asked if I had travelled within Europe and those other countries within the last 14days. They also asked if I got any other tickets to the US and show proof of cancellation.

The significance is - if you got any European airline to US, you would have been turned back before transiting to The US- this means you have entered the zone within 14 days and can’t come to the US until after two weeks.

So showing the ticket was cancelled means I did not travel through Europe and was turned back.
Most people who were turned back got a ticket immediately via Turkey.

Yes I’ve been vaccinated - extra restriction would mean isolating and upon return day 2 and 7 PCR test.
I think the new regulation to the US says you have to show proof of full vaccination

First video of the year and I did something different this time around, I traveled to Abeokuta, Ogun State, Southwest Nigeria for a tour of Abeokuta, I visited the Ake Palace ground, the first church in Nigeria, the Centenary hall and the famous Olumo Rock. Yes you can go to NY first.
But note you will need accommodation in NY and also travel from NY to ATL. That will cost additional money.

Delta (expensive) flies to ATL directly from Lagos.
Cheaper airlines will go to NY through stop over locations.

The truth is there is no hard and fast rule to it.
A meal at a QSR is $20. Food trucks cheaper $10
Gate fees for tourist attractions cost $10 - $40
Uber or Lyft is between $15 - $60 (but your host will probably take you to most places)
A swanky restaurant will set you back $65 - $100.
A bar or joint sells drinks $15 - $50
$50 gets you a prepaid line plus data for 30 days (put sim in your phone). Wifi is available most places if you don't buy sim.
Subway or Metro is $1.50 to $4 a ride. Depending on state. 30 days metro pass is $100 - $150.

Hold $400, $500 to $700 cash for PoE, you are fine. Tell them you will also use your ATM card for other expenses.

If you have a layover or connecting flight, you'd need cash for those duty free shops. If you can, break at least $100 into $10s and $20s before your trip. Not compulsory. Helps with spending.

You can spend $1000 on a 2 weeks trip or you can spend $10k on a 2 weeks trip.
