I watched the interview on Arise News.

Peter Obi made it clear that he doesn't have a problem with borrowing. However, every loan will have a specific purpose it is being borrowed for and would be accounted for. He made it crystal clear that he wouldn't borrow for consumption, instead for production so as to create wealth and jobs.

He cited an instance of how Tafawa Belewa borrowed money from the World Bank to build Kanji Dam and how the dam has improved power generation in the country. He argued that power generation is critical for boosting the economy of the country. Where he mentioned starving was when he said he cannot borrow money for consumption.

When Rufai asked him how it felt that Obiano squandered the 75billion he left the state as governor, he felt overwhelmed and didn't want to talk about it probably because he has had several clashes in the past with Obiano over how the drunkard of a governor and his wife squandered state resources.

He simply gave an instance of how Obasanjo left Nigeria with a debt of $3 billion and how Buhari has increased it to over $100 billion. He simply concluded that he has served the state, left his legacy and what his successor chose to do is entirely his business.

Many people who argue here do that because they already have other candidates they are promoting and would do anything to tarnish Peter Obi's image. One thing is certain though: Hunger and insecurity have no tribe and religion. When they strike, everyone will bear the brunt, including the idiots who voted in bigger idiots.
