It's clear America does not want More stream 2 to be completed however, your write up has butress to explain Ukraine's role in making that happen. Because I believe with or without the war in as much as Russia is still economically strong and there are no legally binding sanctions with respect to Int'l relations that could prevent them from completing this pipeline. I therefore don't see how the cold war btw UslS and Russia can prevent that from happening eventually.

Previous explanation given to the Russian invasion of Ukraine was that their alliance with NATO will further expose Russia's military investments in Ukraine considering their history together.

A part of me amagree with you in some areas cos I believe this war is more about economic dominance between these two powerful nation's especially the rejection of Petrodollar Regine by Russia than just for military might. However, am still puting the pieces together to come up with a robust explanation.

All predictions keep unfolding. Consequence of international blonder. It would have made the best sense if Putin had only threatened Ukraine and not invade or at worse made a quick but tangible defeat against Ukraine. Now the more the so called special military operation lingers, the more the west will make most of it.
In the coming year or so, Russia will be relegated to a semi pariah state or at best a nuclear regional power. She will have a very little to no influence in Europe.
The bitter truth is, Russia just strengthened The west (US) hegemony. Indirectly, aided Indo-Pacific strategy.

Russia's actions never brought NATO closer, the issue there is that these western countries are hypocrites, what the Russian federation is doing in Ukraine right now, the US has done worst in the past, they either invade directly, carry out a proxy war or carry out a covert operation using their intelligence agencies either to sponsor a dissident force to topple or assassinate certain political leaders. They are devilish. This is what happened during the Cold war. That's why African leaders are neutral on Ukraine issue. Aligning with any side on Ukraine issue will bring back a scenario reminiscent of the Cool war era.
If Zelensky was well versed in world history, he wouldn't even want to seek audience with the African Union. It is not our war, it is theirs, they should carry their cross
