Nigerians are not interested in mutual growth but someone they can compete or show off to.

Our ogas and madams in the UK..

Bikonu, ejoor , make una dey tell us some of the dos and donts to observe in the UK, make person no enter wahala.

11. Don't attempt to do Kabu kabu (illegal Taxi) in the UK as that became a criminal offence some years ago.

12. If you are a man, don't make a habit of pursuing / chasing any woman you see on the road as you could be accused of harassment in a country that is laced with CCTV's

13. Don't use public spaces as your toilet 'cos for example in London there is now 1 CCTV Camera for every 13 people , meaning there are now 691,000 CCTV Cameras in London and the average Londoner is caught on CCTV 300 times a day. so, in the UK your every move in public is being caught on camera.
https://www.cctv.co.uk/how-many-cctv-cameras-are-there-in-london/

14. Also as a man, don't go hugging women willy nilly as you could get done for sexual assault.

15. Revenge porn is a criminal offence that could send you to jail for 2 years or more.

Actually I haven't had a drop today although I downed a whole bottle of Gordons Gin at a Naija Restaurant in Blackheath on Thursday night.

Decided to respect myself and stay at home yesterday although I'm getting the itch to go out and get plastered or semi plastered tonight. I'll see how much longer I can resist.

There is also a place in Lewisham where we go to eat Live point and Kill Catfish throughout lockdown and up till now at £20 to £35 per fish in Lewisham at one Alhaja's place and for night crawlers like me it was a second home as it doesn't close early.

16. Learn to respect peoples personal spaces and don't move uncomfortably too close to strangers in public.

17. Let people off the train before you get on as you don't want to headbutt someone getting off the train just because you are rushing to get a seat.

18. Follow the speed limits when driving as there are speed cameras littered all over UK roads.

19. Forget about driving without Driving Licence, MOT, Road Tax or insurance as apart from being randomly stopped by Patrolling Police, every CCTV / traffic light combination will run your number plate through a central database and if your car is lacking Road Tax / MOT or Insurance and you are unlucky that an ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) patrol police car is nearby on a sting operation, the CCTV in real time notifies an ANPR police car that is lurking round the corner who will have an easy task stopping you a few seconds or minutes later and UK police now have the right to seize uninsured cars and crush them to pulp.

20. You can only use your car horn while your car is moving and you need to warn other road users of your presence. Never sound your horn aggressively.

You MUST NOT use your horn: while stationary on the road or when driving in a built-up area between the hours of 11.30 pm and 7.00 am except when another road user poses a danger.

It's being choosy about which Nigerians you hang out with regularly. I curate my friendship groups very very finely. We must share similar values, have a similar outlook and be on the same page.
I know and speak to/ with many Nigerians. I will give advice, suggestions, directions, go over CVs, have one off conversations etc. Doesn't make us friends. I won't give references, act as guarantor, provide accommodation. Been there, done that, burnt the T shirt.

Hello Everyone. Need advice. I'm into IT working full time 8-4 in manchester. Bills back home and other responsibilities are building up. What other side hussles can one do? I thought of combining this with care jobs (part time from friday night to sunday morning). How feasible is this? Also, referals for part time care jobs within manchester would be helpful.

1. Don't claim benefits you are not entitled to from the Govt as it may take 25 years to find out but they probably will and even if they don't you don't want to make a habit of taking what you are not entitled to.

2. Always pay your taxes as tax evasion carries a 5 year prison sentence.

3. The less the number of Nigerian friends you have the better for you.

4. Save, save and save to get a deposit to buy your own house (Mortgage) as all rent is waste and your propert(ies) will serve as a good source of pension and wealth in future.

5. IF you ever need to flog your errant school age pikin, make sure it is on the palm.

6. Not sure if you are a man but if you are, NEVER hit a woman.

7. You can go to prison for 8 years if your wife says get up and you say wait till I finish as from the point you carry on regardless, it is called marital rape.

8. Don't drink and drive or drive withouth insurance as if you hav an accident in such circumstances, you will be jailed. Also do not drive if you have been banned from driving.

9. Don't listen to ANY Nigerian who tries to teach you ways to beat the system (e.g fiddle with your electric meter) or make easy money as any easy money comes with a greater than 50% probability that you will end up in jail.

10. If you have a son in the UK, just know that black boys are picked on by the UK educational system and learn to do your own research / tough love at home and not believe everything negative they say about your son.

You have to find a way to set yourself free from these other responsibilities......naija problems no dey finish .......

or else you just age yourself fast . Friday to Sunday should be for rest but if you want to work then maybe every other weekend. Check door security. That might be less demanding than care job if you are male gender and pays slightly higher
