Glorified house servant in UK may b like an MD in some company in NIG.
It's like an adage of the story of ADEGBORO in Yoruba setting. He was a servant in Oyingbo but own houses in Oja Oba in Ibadan. It shall not continue like this.

From the little I have watched on YouTube, it will be some difficult because most recruiter received application with required heath background that may not give your kind of CV a 2nd look. There's still for you to do healthcare work for like 8months. Just be patient and forcus

Send mail directly to the company official email. What I mean is attach your resume and paste your well written cover letter as the body of your email. I was able to land 2 interviews using this format. I use the tier 2 link and searched care homes, go to their website and copy their email address. Some have vacancies, I also apply and still send mail to them
Meanwhile I will say that I’m a customer to almost all the known job site. I put I. More than 10 applications per day and funny enough when I wake up I will get like 4 or 5 we are sorry but I was determined.
Don’t give up. Good luck

I have been doing this for weeks and still haven't gotten any positive response, some don't even bother to respond at all and most will say they don't offer sponsorship....I guess there's something going on that I'm not getting right.... can you please send me a mail on famoduebunoluwa@gmail.com

Thank you I await your response

Most companies do it for you for free, or you pay them. For your visa application, the police certificate for all the countries you have been to within the space of 10 years is fine

Thanks for your response Kenny. Very helpful!
Kennyg290:

Yes, it's different. Senior carer is for those in that particular field while HCA are those with Little or much experience on health.
We don't need to bother about the visa duration because the contract will guide you.
Your brother can apply for the HCA because it's d easiest way to JAPA 4now to UK if u meet d requirements.
My view pls

Thanks a lot, Emurate
Emurate1:

Your visa depends on the years of contract your employer states on your CoS. It has nothing to do with Senior Carer or HCA.
Re: UK Skilled Worker Visa / Health And Care Worker Visa / Qualified Teacher Route by Shespeaks: 8:45am On Apr 18, 2022
Oh , thank you. Really helpful!
jum33:

Senior carer and health care assistant job are among the list of currently published shortage occupation just like you have doctors are nurses jobs etc that are in high demand in uk .
And for any occupation that happens to be listed in the shortage occupation list ,the privilege is there for the employet to sponsor skilled worker abroad with minimum and maximum contract of 3 years and 5 years respectively which can lead to ILR at end of the contract .So based on visa category for skilled workers ,duration of years of contract are all the same .
However for nigerian ,HCW is virtually a non existence field and very few experience professional available so it will practically impossible to get a senior carer (except registered nurses) role cos it is higher role in the HCW field and you need some years of experience and certification to land such role,so it better to stick with the HCW beginner role wen applying if you don't have the true industry based experience..

You are responsible for payment of the immigration suncharge. Paying on your behalf and deductingbfrom your salary is doing you a favour. Your annual renumeration looks okay too.

Hi guys, I have been assigned a 3 year CoS and my employer agreed to certify my maintenance so i don’t have to use my bank statement when applying for visa.

My annual salary (gross) as stated in my CoS is just a little above £28,000 per annum but they have stated that the immigration surcharge for the three years (£1092) will be deducted from my salary with an agreement.

I am not sounding greedy but is it right as there were no prior discussion regarding this, I was only told after my CoS was assigned.

This is false. The immigration skills charge is £364 for small sponsors. £364*3 years=£1,092. According to UKGOV the employer is meant to make that payment.

There is a difference between Health Surcharge and Immigration skill charge.
As a care worker, you are exempted from the Health Surcharge when applying for Visa.

Akanniaelde, your salary is good. If I were you, I'd go ahead and accept the deal if they insist that you must refund them.

I have seen several replys saying a little over £28,000 annual salary is good.

Can someone who is UK share a real monthly expenses which includes PCM rent, groceries, light/gas bills, council tax, TV license and miscellaneous.

Thanks to everyone for sharing vital information.

Ultimately, my advise is same. Take the job even if they want to deduct from your salary.

Typically, before you can be issued a certificate of sponsorship (COS) by your potential employer. You must have been offered employment in the UK which meets the minimum pay for immigrants.

On accepting the offer, you go through some screening which varies amongst employers. Every employer/organization have specific onboarding activities which varies from background checks, filling of forms, signing some agreements etc.

You are expected to also have prove your knowledge of English language, TB test results (All this have been stated in the first post).

Once you submit all the necessary documents to your employer, they will start processing your COS. You don't have to do anything else but wait patiently till they send it to you. Once you receive the COS, you quote the COS ref number on your visa application.

Let me know if there is any other contribution you think might be helpful.

Good day sir. Please do I just need proof of study in English Language or do I need plus transcripts?

Hello house.
Thank you for this thread.
Please I need your reply and clarifications on how to go by it.

I studied English Education with a master in Public Administration . Please, Where do I fit in the UK health and care worker or other skilled occupations in the UK ?

Although, am passionate about working as a social worker and read a lot on social work. I have interest in care giving/advocacy, but because it is not selling in Nigeria, l had to abandon master in social work for a Master in Public Administration .

My work experience has been Teaching with ten years experience.
So, which path do I follow?

Thank you in anticipation for your responses
