The Idoma should first allow Omenkas tribe Igede to be the Zone C Senator in Benue, before demanding for Governor.

As it is, Omenka can never amount to anything in Benue politics, not even just a Senator. It’s that horrible for the fellow.

Who told you omenka is from benue
A benue man who is ready to kill for yorubas but is sacred to lift wood for benue people

Omenka's tribesmen don't cannibalize themselves. They don't kick their parents in the face to wake them from sleep. They don't run brothels where children are born and sold to highest bidders. They don't have their Kith and kin on death row in prisons across the world over narcotics related charges. They don't baptize their newborns in the rivers of HATE.

Okoro, you can now crawl back into the dingy cave wherefrom you emerged. You've got a slut to impregnate. You need the paycheck to live another Day.

The deputy governor from 1999 to 2007 was an Igede man.

The paramount ruler of the Idoma ethnicity has had an igede man. I don’t believe the Igedes are being marginalized.

That is why i keep saying that injustice to one is threat to justice to majority, when we criticise injustice done to one another ,you will see things flowing orderly.

When igboman is complaining about marginalisation at the centre, instead of the smaller ethnic groups suffering one form of marginalisation or the to join their voice against the marginalisation at the centre, they will rather join the oppressors to criticise and make mockery of the oppressed thereby embolden them the more.

Thank God this conversation have started.

A set of people will always come on this forum and will be shouting ijaw republic, ijaw republic, go to Bayelsa and see for yourself, the minority tribes among them are not given an opportunity to represent.

Lol. A little too late for this.

Tivs led by Ortom have already settled for Titus Uba as the next governor.

Current deputy (an Idoma) is trying to cry foul, but let's face it, the race is more or less settled.

There are no minority tribes in Bayelsa.
Bayelsa have 550 villages and 546 villages are under all ijaw sociocultural organizations.
The rest four isoko camps are at the border with Isoko of Delta

They are all ijaws under all Ijaw sociocultural organizations.
They are Ijaw clans.

Jonathan is Ogbia Ijaw
And is a former Governor
Paulker is Epie Ijaw and his 16 years Senator of Bayelsa Central.
The Ijaw Youth Council Chairman Epie clan is Ambozibe Ebi.

Very pertinent question and timely too.

Why always the Tivs?

If you ask them now, they will say zoning is not a Democratic tenet/principle.

And that’s why I love what this guy said in this video where he asked if Democratic Tenets are cast in stone…

Why can’t we deconstruct democracy and redefine it and it’s tenets to suit the existential demands of today’s Nigerian society?

There is actually zoning in Benue, but it is done only among Tivs

That's true. If not for equity, the Igbos of Delta State have the numeric advantage to perpetuate themselves in the state government house.

I never knew they were this large until recently. Check out Anioma
Aniocha North
Aniocha South
Ika south
Ika North-East
Ndokwa East
Ndokwa West
Oshimili North
Oshimili South
Ukwuani
All these are Igbos and they have the highest voting strength in the state. Equity can be a good thing in every situation.
SHUT UP! Anioma Igbos dont have any power or numerical advantage in Delta state!

The truth is that Nigerian politics plays along the lines of religious, ethnic and political party inclinations. Until we starting embracing qualified candidates to head the political offices, it would remain the same. Everyone here is naturally biased, but we should pursue true leadership and rid ourselves of bigotry
God1000:
There's marginalisation everywhere in Nigeria both at the national, state and local government levels.

The Tivs have numeric advantage over idoma and igede put together and they are not ready to relinquish power yet, the same way idoma people believe that the seat of Benue south senatorial zone is their birthright and they won't allow igede man to be senator.

The Tivs have been producing governor since 1999 and it's not fair, we want equal representation and opportunity to serve.

I appeal to the Tivs to reconsider and allow other tribes to produce governor.

I have a cordial relationship with my tiv and idoma friends and neighbours both at home and work in my state of residence, this issue of discrimination only exist more in Benue state.

We all should come together and embrace one another because outside the shores of Nigeria, nobody cares whether you are Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba or igede.
The outside world doesn't care, we carry the same image and national identity.

I think there's Something fundamentally wrong with Nigeria, say no to tribalism, nepotism and marginalisation.

Tribalism is a form of Governance where all Tribes are represented in Governance Structure. In Nigeria, every tribe wants representation and Rotational Governance between tribes.

So we are fundamentally practicing Tribalism as a form of governance. So, each time you want your tribe to be in charge, understand clearly that you are promoting Tribalism, and there is nothing wrong with it as long as you are not claiming to be a Democrat or Republican.

The default form of Government in Nigeria is called Tribalism.

It happens everywhere . Ibadan has produced more Governors in Oyo State than any other city I think it's not fair, as much as we are the majority and host the state capital, Oke Ogun is the Agricultural capital, Mining hub and Gateway link from Nigeria to Benin Republic they deserve representation too

Even my Local Government at Egbeda only a particular neighbourhood produces LGA chairmen

To be honest, there won't be need for Nigerians to be checking tribes and religion affiliations to elwct their political office holders, if those elected have been governing well.
For example, if an Hausa man remains president and he performs greatly, amd in the next election another competent Hausa man takes over, and the country continues getting better... Nigerians won be worried about the tribe or religion.

On 2baba's thought, what makes you believe an Idoma man will do better? Is he credible? Or is it for a mere wish of rotation? If there is a verifiable candidate, promote him and let the people vote him/her in based on what he or she will deliver not based on ethnicity.
