Better... C that advice baz001 gave you up there? Listen to it well.

The same way you wash your dad's car is how you'll also wash your car.

My modus operandi hasn't changed from the days of my rental.

I rest every Tuesdays and days car needs mechanic attention.

Last week Friday I started work late around 3pm I got home past 1am then set out to ajah to pickup a client to Alakuko that was all for that day... Sunday I worked from 2pm till 11pm Monday I didn't work, yesterday being Tuesday actual, my rest days... I use am carry madam go market to stockpile the house.

My target is long trips on days I want to work fully in Bolt, you can't just be changing destination anyhow without letting me know from the onset of the trip, I'm not your personal driver Oga/madam.

On Friday I carried one girl and as we enroute she liked the comfort of the car na so say told me she would like me to carry her for two other stops after getting to her current destination.

From her house on castleRock to a supermarket along the street then to Agungi and then back I charged her 3k, she offered to changed location on the app b4 but I declined since it wasn't a surge trip.

Bolt wouldn't have charged that much.

This work na calculation

Gbamest. Your brain dey work fire my brother. You don dey do me long throat for that your car.

Same issue happened to a driver I know

Turned out that his account was blocked. I guess this is Bolts new style. No email, no in app notification, nothing.

He only got to realise he was blocked when he called them. Their reason? Someone reported that he used a longer route and increased fare.

He was blocked for two weeks or so before they unblocked him

Can you imagine and some people said we shouldn't talk about having a Union.

Imagine if davit was that driver peacefulhome talked about? He would have loose that car b4 they unblocked him

I think it's both, power steering oil goes down occasionally, and the whistling sound when you turn the steering. Steering is stiff when turning on slow speed.

Ladipo wahala too much....

Still go further to confirm if truly steering rack is bad, that component doesn't just go bad like that unlease the car dropped with the chest hitting the ground while in motion.

If the hoist is leaking it can also make oil drop in level, so be very sure your rack is bad before doing anything. Most mechanic don't do they findings well b4 coming to a conclusion, you have to be experience to tell them their job sometimes

That was how my EOD went bad on my way back from lusada, Chinese village, ogun State. I'd worked on the rack b4 in Ph when it 1st went bad... I spent 15k all together.
8k for the rack, mechanic 6k to bring it down and reinstall then 1k for tp. The job took 2days.

There's a place they fix it in jankara as well, better still give your mechanic to take it to ladipo to fix then buy a tokunbo pump and the cup for the oil if it's Honda.
If it Toyota wash the cup with Petro very well b4 reinstalling.

My current car has its cup together with the pump its self I spent 19k together with my old one.

One thing worthy of note is, the cup itself can affect these components for Honda cars and Toyota... From experience.

So best is buy a brand new cup not tokunbo o when replacing your pump.

If Bolt does this, I only pity people who would see this hustle as a real way of livelihood especially those buy cars for the purpose.

I don’t pity anybody again both partners and drivers... experience will teach them.

Earnings can never be consistent/sustainable

But they say we are discouraging people from joining the hustle and talking down on it.

I wish I can trust someone enough to give my bolt account in time of crisis.

No pension, no leave, no retirement benfit when you eventually stop driving or don't have strength to drive any more, no assistance to pay hospital bills when driver falls sick or get involve in an accident, no leave neither sick leave allowances, no promotion, old driver with over 7k trips completed with more than 4yrs full time driving paying atleast 15k weekly as bonus is in the same rank as a driver that just joined last week.

The man really Bleep up, abeg between c180, c200 and c230, which of them will you recommend.

All of them has the same body type but different year model and engine type.

C230, has V6 and 4Cyl but the 4cyl is scare but more features like heater on driver's seat, sunlight open roof et el...

I think the C230 production yr is from 2004 to 2005/06 while C200 from 2003 to 2005 while C180 from 2000 to 2003.

They've generation, like my own is called W203, meaning 03 generation then they also have engine category and my is M271, black top. But a friend's W203, same C200 has M111 engine red top. Many Benz specialist call it the bullet proof.

It goes with n and on like that

Can you elaborate more on this as this could have been the root cause of the problem, why did you have to clean an engine that is supposed to be working smoothly with no sound? Was the sump bad? Or leaking?

Why do you have to service every month? With what oil? I assume mobile xhp or it's subs cos no one would change oil monthly using synthetic oil.

What ever the oil case may be I think that cleaning exercise was the cause to the problem, but again, why did you have to clean the engine?

Was the sludge build up too much? If so, then the oil used all along is the main culprit.

If you think all of these assumptions are correct then I believe you have your answers and know what to avoid going forward.
I hv been using mobil xhp right from time immemorial and when i started using the car for ehailing i started changing d oil every month due to what i learnt here abt xhp, as at then i make enquiry if i can change to synthetic but i was made to understand it's better to continue with d mobil but service regularly which hv been doing tho its tiring. After dec hustle i went for general servicing and we discovere they were sludge in d top engine so it was removed and cleaned with fuel with d sump, copled back, as we hv clean the engine na i decided to start using gastrol synthetic but it keeps showing oil light so they said d oil is too light for my engine, we flush it out and went back to my mobil and d light went off car went back to normal but the only thing i noticed after d clean up was dat my oil reduces doesn't get to dat second top gauge after some days replacing oil unlike before my oil never goes past d top gauge, fastforward to this incident car was running fine and smoothly until i saw d oil light blinked on 3rd mainland bridge before d car went off , we checked n oil was inside.. mechanic said d oil pump was damaged and couldn't pump oil again dat i could hv stopped immediately i saw d light blinking

Finally gotten back access to nairaland.

Hello nairaland,

I bought a car last year for my online Taxi business which was a decision I had to make in order to save my business from the current economic realities. The car is a Honda civic 2003, I must say the car really helps in terms of fuel economy and cost of replacing damaged parts. But then the car overheats when the sun is out with the AC on, the over heating only occurs on hot days but lately regardless of the surroundings temperature the car overheats after 2 to 3 hours of driving. I have literally tried everything from changing radiator to replacing head gasket to flushing engine block and adding additional fan that comes up when I turn on the AC all these efforts never solved the problem.
In a desperate search for a solution I have taken the car to a very professional mechanic with all gadget and tools needed to give a finally solution.

I am documenting the entire process via YouTube on a channel called CarPalavaFix

Link to the video below

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P-DcsojCqhA

Please subcribe as I'll upload my progress on this project.

And thanks for the support you all showed me on my previous channel (The Driverpreneur). Really appreciate

Please kindly keep us posted here regarding this issue if and when it is solved as I am currently facing similar problem.

In my case: car temp goes up when ac is on but normalizes when off. Radiator reservoir dries up and once the water level goes down the temp starts to rise. I've had to change 2 radiator caps and a head gasket change with the hope it will solve the problem but no luck.

So, finally I was able to locate the agbede people that I was adviced I take the radiator to; this will be done on Monday...fingers crossed. However, if this doesn't solve the problem then water pump will be changed next.

...changing the radiator for me will be the last resort.
