mtcheeew! Americans are concerned about the innocent russian population that's why most of the sanctions are directly against Putin. They even call the war, Putin's war! Imagine a situation where the war escalates and Russia is wiped out of world map. Even in the future, it won't go well with people of then as everyone would be pointing blaming fingers against each other. Americans are also concerned about their own population too because the war would be a loose loose but Russia won't survive it.

It is unacceptable to any super power to surrounded by it adversary/adversaries. Russia can not lose in Ukraine. Although the West won't bend too. But if the sanctions begin to bite and Russian troops start to fall apart in Ukraine. They will use nuclear weapon.

The major issue Russia is facing in Ukraine is lack of man power. They have the equipments. But lack troops that can be poured in Ukraine. The Ukrainians have enough man power but no military equipments. Although the West is filling the void but its not enough.
