If we had gotten an interim manager that somehow got us Top 4 or made the team look good they would have approached appointing the new manager the way they approached appointing Ole.

They would have gone to the negotiation table with pride and rejected ten Hag and gotten a yes man. It was their new found humility borne of the current predicament that allowed them to allegedly acquiesce to ten Hag's demands during the protracted discussions.

Mentioned it earlier that it’s best we finish in 8th or 9th position this season since failure is the only language they understand.

Anything close to an average or above average performance is enough for them to keep papering over the cracks.
