superbloke:What is this "technicality" you guys keep making noise about?? The only difference between Abraham and Osimhen is that Abraham drops deep and holds the ball which allows other players to run into scoring positions which leads to assists While Osimhen doesn't drop deep and doesn't hold the ball and his usually trying to beat offside trap which means he doesn't wait for and allow other players run into scoring positions. Abraham, Ihenacho, Awoniyi, Sadiq , Dessers, Moffi play similarly. Give Osimhen a strike partner like Sadiq or Awoniyi or Ihenacho or Yira sor or Dessers or Moffi then put one of Ihenacho/Aribo/Iwobi/Awoniyi/Nwakwali behind them then at least 3 midfielders and you'll bring out Osimhen's performance. Which is exactly what Mourinho does with Abraham who has a strike partner who also drops deep then another player behind them then 4 MIDFIELDERS not 1 midfielder as was the case with Eguavoen's formation and tactics. |

codemaniacs:My friend Osimehn hasn’t shown or proven anything that he is better than Tammy. Go and view Tammy CV vs Osimehn CV and see who has more goals. Mind you, they’re around the same age. Nigerians are deceived by running or fighting spirit/sentiments instead of analyzing based on empirical data. Osimehn showed me his true character vs Ghana. In over 180 minutes, he couldn’t score against Ghana. This season, he hasn’t scored against any big team whatsoever |

JohnBullMySon:Been born in Nigeria with the ambition of becoming a footballer who wants to play in Eng:land automatically makes the person a victim of circumstance. He is talking about Nigerian youths who want to become footballers and go directly from Nigeria to England, only Ihenacho has achieved such. He is not talking of Nigerian youths who want to become accountants engineers doctors etc. |

BannedLarge:What you're calling "running or fighting spirit/sentiments" is called " pressing " in football and that's how Nketia scored his 2 goals against Chelsea this night. Nigeria conceded cheap goals against Tunisia and Ghana due to lack of pressing from Nigeria's midfielders and defenders.. if the Nigerian midfielders and defenders had Osimhen's pressing or "running or fighting spirit/sentiments" mentality then those cheap goals won't have been conceded. |

codemaniacs:Running and pressing for over 180 Minutes and you cannot score against Amartey. Who pressing Epp? He should conserve his energy and calculate when to Run and also not Run. He should also improve on his shooting outside the box in case teams pack the bus. For now, Abraham is better |

JohnBullMySon:This Comrade Maguire is a scam lol. Admit it fr fr. Imagine you bought someone for 80 million pounds. A defender for that matter. In modern football, we know that Attackers cost the most. For a defender to cost that much means he is damn good. You bought maguire for that amount, then he starts making silly mistakes and making you concede like amateurs. Truth is, his purchase is unjustified. He's a fraud. He needs to work harder to change the narrative.

codemaniacs:To make it easier to understand: Daka is a good CF. He is one of the closest strikers to Osimhen you can find. Aggression, pace, poaching, name it. Iheanacho is benching him at Leicester. Why? He is not technical enough. Everyone is fast in the EPL, so pace is not enough. You need to be able to link up play, spray passes, make intelligent decisions in tight spaces etc. Osimhen cannot curve a shot. The last time he scored from outside the 18 was Atalanta with a low shot that the keeper flopped. All standard EPL strikers can score from outside the 18, can curve a ball into the top corner etc. These are the simple things. |

Subzero47:The Brighton midfielder? I watched him today then. All brawn, limited brains. Might be another Kante with good drilling from a decent coach. At the moment though, guys like Mwepu and Bissouma are miles ahead. |

drDoom3:Osimhen plays with Insigne so Osimhen is definitely learning or has seen how to curve a shot he just hasn't added it to his game.. That's why he needs to learn how to drop deep and sometimes to midfield and hold the ball so that he can allow other players run ahead of him. Osimhen is technical, just that most Nigerians and most Nigerian sports journalists are trying to make him the scapegoat instead of admitting that most Nigerian local coaches are below average and local coaching and coaches need to improve. |

codemaniacs:What do you expect? This is Nigeria somebody must take the whole blame and you know it won't be the person that is at fault. The midfield no gel but na striker wey no receive service and wey dey hustle for ball be the real problem. That one for up don already dey talk say na because him no sabi curl ball. Wo just leave am like that. Even if you argue till the end of the year the opinion won't change at all. |

Amedino99:Striker that received 4 Half chances and failed to convert any of those and you’re blaming the midfield. A world class striker is supposed to convert half chances at any given time and that’s how you differentiate world class strikers from ok strikers. In addition to that, a top striker should improve on his long range shooting in order to draw back and shoot from distance incase his opponents box has been Tied. There’s no way that Ighalo, sadiq or awoniyi would had gotten away with those Osimehn horrible performances vs Ghana on this site. Never. If you want to deceive Nigerians, Run, and hustle and they will forget about Productivity. I remember how Emenike scored few screamers from outside when the inbox was crowded |

As for now, Osimehn is a young and decent striker that’s capable of becoming World class. If he admits his weakness and improve on his weakness, he will can become world class. |

codemaniacs:Sir,90 mins game and single shot, defenders and midfieders to be blamed for not pressing like Osimehn Maduka and Uzoho fumbled against Tunisia and Ghana....those goals are the worst in GWG goalkeeping history. Did you know that in Afcon the Tunisia goal was only real direct shot in 360 minutes played by eagles, against Ghana in Abuja just a shot in 90 minutes it is a goal. I can only blame our midfield for not creating enough chances. |

BannedLarge:I pointed it out here during afcon that we are having issues with our midfield but to my surprised, replies were Awoniyi and Sadiq are not up to the standard. The same thing repeated itself against Ghana but to my dismayed we all now realized that we are having issues with our midfield. Honestly to see the best of Osimehn and other CFs we need to have a good midfield or else we keep on complaining. |

Amedino99:Sir,I think we are more informed now about our midfield issues, nobody is blaming Osimehn but trying to say he can do better and this came up with Tammy comparisons which centered on goals scored against top teams in seria A. |

BannedLarge:Even world class strikers miss big chances talk less of half chances. Lewandowski has missed atleast 20 big chances this season. You wouldn't know because he has a good team where they give him regular supply of the ball. Free the guy. It's been almost a month we played the match. E don do abeg. if the screamers were easy to score why didn't emenike score more than 9 goals in 37 apps. |

Kog45:How strikers do their things depends on formation and the amount of chances created for the strikers. Tammy has played more games than Osimhen and gets other players involved in attacks unlike Osimhen because Tammy has a strike partner and an attacking midfielder or false striker behind him. |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Amedino99(m): 8:50am On Apr 21, 2022 |
Kog45:I'm not bothered about the Tammy comparison. I'm just concerned about blaming osihmen for missing 4 half chances in 180 minutes of football. |

BannedLarge:its the coach that creates the tactics and formation that will create chances for the strikers to score. Moses Simon missed a big chance vs Ghana in the first leg nobody is talking about Simon not scoring and not creating chances, nobody is also talking about Chukwueze, Aribo, Dennis not scoring... like Its only Osimhen that will attack, win tackles and defend... when Liverpool, Bayern, Barcelona, Real Madrid or Man City play any of their forward players can score and assist goals even their midfielders , but when it comes to the S.E you want Osimhen to turn to superman... Sadiq and Awoniyi missed clear chances. |
