Hi Nlanders! Pls i need your opinions. A family friend is planning to relocate with his family(wife & 2 kids) to Senegal or any other good African country. He said he has about a million. His wife is a teacher, while he's an artist (fine artist). He'll also appreciate if countries where art is appreciated can be suggested.

Tell your friend to make a research on UK caregiver sponsorship... if you selected... the family get to travel to the UK free

He shouldn't go with his family at the first instance. He should go alone first to see how the place looks. If okay, he can bring his family. You don't test the dept of a river with both feet.

Again, language barrier. It's usually hard in countries that don't speak English...

Again, West, East and central African countries are very much unstable. Coup de tat, political unrest, ethnic clashes may happen at any time which one can be caught in between, and may require one having to run out or be evacuated...

These are points to consider...

One million naira may also not be enough.

Let your friend just calculate his options and factors properly sha

Sir, coz i know its really you, that is a journey of one week and you will pass through countries that now have serious terrorism issues.

I've lived in Gambia, frequently visited Senegal; have been to Guinea Bissau and Ghana; and have many Sierra Leonian and Liberian connects. I can tell you a little about those countries.

Senegalese are natural artisans so fine arts is something they already do a lot. Its also wildly expensive.

you dont relocate with ur family first...relocate yourself first and later, you can decide whether to bring in your family in or not.

You don't relocate yourself and your family to a place where you don't speak the language, there are limited economic opportunities to provide somewhat OK jobs for new immigrants and you don't know the business opportunities for your profession/line of business on less than $2,000.

Verdict: He should stay in Nigeria and grind harder.
