Good evening nl, a little issue has been bothering me for quite some time and I don’t really know how to handle this, my mental health is at stake

Started 2020 during Covid period when most people were laid off from work, this colleague of mine was affected and she had just come to Lagos few months, she doesn’t know any one and was staying at the staff quarters, so when she was laid off she was stranded and me being so soft and kind-hearted took her in to the small room I was managing with hope that when she gets another job she’ll at least save up money to get her own place.

She later got a job and then suggested we split the bills and start paying for the room, that was when issues began, any little issue, she’s ready to keep malice for months, go to outsiders and spoil my name and all sorts of crap. She is very rude to neighbors and then mistakenly insulted my caretaker not knowing he was the one, the man didn’t hesitate to give me quit notice, saying that there has been series of complaints about my roommate but he chose to ignore cos I wasn’t a troublesome person. I pleaded with him and he said only on one condition; if I sent the girl parking, I refunded the girl her money and asked her to leave that my sister was coming over, she collected the money and still refused to leave.
Since last year we’ve been dragging this issue, she refused to leave, doesn’t keep the house clean, wears my stuffs anyhow and doesn’t speak to me… I really dunno how to be a mean person and throw her stuffs out and it’s really affecting me, pls what do you guys think I should do?

Why enabling her rude behaviour towards you?

You stated you have refunded her the rent, what is stopping you from packing her things and kept outside while changing the door key/padlock?

Tell the caretaker to come evict her that you don't know her. She will be thrown out since it is only your name that is on the rent receipt.

inform the caretaker to take actions.. if she refuse you call vigilantes or security force.

I might have solution to everything but you see bad roommate na God save me from them, I'm just lucky now if anyone just say let me use one hour in your house I go just say no my grandma is coming to stay with me.
If you don't want to be a mean person, you will end up becoming a wicked and vile one.

You said your sister is coming over but you sister has not come till now. You can see that you fvcked up. Let your sister arrive with your aunty and uncle. Nobody will tell her what to do next.

Throw her stuff out… change your locks… I know you are not mean but try to be mean…. It is for a good cause… someone like that can kill you….

I want you to know that it's not your fault that she's behaving that way, some persons are just like that, ungrateful and wicked.

Well I think she has no money to rent a new apartment and buy properties neither does she have anywhere to return to other than home( where she came from).

I think you should tell the vigilantee in your area about your predicament so that they can help you evict her or make her change permanently but if you have the guts you should put her things outside very close to the time when she normally returns home and then you change the padlock of your house after that you tell your neighbours to keep an eye on her and let one of them give you updates via phone call, once she's gone just come back and sleep or probably lodge by a nearby hotel if you she refuses to go before midnight.
