Only Jumia can boast of $1B in a few years, and that’s because it is traded in the US.

Maybe flutterwave, if they choose to go public.

$40b is different from N40b, if you must reference any institution in Nigeria please kindly note that the entire Nigeria’s foreign reserve is nothing close to 40b.

Dangote group is large.
Refinery (Petrochemicals)
Cement
Sugar
Rice
Fertiliser
Flour
Salt
Steel
Soon: Dangote Cranes
Even UBA, dangote is almost the owner now. He doesn't want to take over. He has the second largest share.
Is very huge. It worth more than $44 billion. It's a highly profitable business with great potential to expand. If you offer Dagote $44bilion for his businesses, he will reject it considering the potential ahead. By the time the refinery start working and listed on stock exchange, the value will definitely go up.

Sure

He borrowed billions of dollars for the refinery. If he wants to sell it with d cement and other production line its worth more than that amount

There is nothing like "Dangote Company", Mate.
Except you're combining all or some of the companies under the Dangote Conglomerate, I may be wrong, but not one of them can be bought for $40B.

Even Dangote him self did not worth $40 billion
The Op said company not individual..

Dangote doesn't own 100% of dangote groups..

And yes..the only company dat will come close is Dangote groups..
Dangote groups has atleast 4 group
*Dangote salt
*Dangote cement
*Dangote refinery
*Dangote sugar
*Dangote fertilizer

The refinery alone is worth atleast $19bn almost $20bn and it not even in operation yet..

.am pretty sure when u add all the 9+ cement plants operated across Africa.., his sugar , petrochemical and fertilizer plants..it should be around $21bn or more

Alright if you say so but apart from banks and Dangote company, what other companies do we have that are worth more than 40 billion dollars?
Because surely the Economy won't flourish with banks alone.

No Nigerian Start up/established company is worth $40Billion
Not even banks or even Dangote Group or Globacom providers are worth $40B
Paystack still remains the highest acquisition in Nigeria.
About $200M (2020)
Flutter stack net worth hits $3B.
Dangote would roughly be between $5B - $20B.

It called Dangote groups...and it is a conglomerate itself
And involves several groups..

In all .. combining all the companies/group under dangote groups as a conglomerate..it should surpass $40bn..

U should note dat dangote refinery (a single group) alone worth $19bn

Dangote group
Dangote Group was never built from scratch, rather its a conduit pipe through which corrupt Nigerian politicians loot and hide their looted wealth.

Dangote didn't start from scratch, forget the cooked up lies they tell you about Dangote.

And Dangote himself is not worth up to 20billion USD, so you see?

Since Elon Musk acquired twitter for 45 billion dollars, i have been thinking.

We all know that twitter was founded by Americans in America and there are other companies from America that i believe are worth more than 40 billion dollars.

From social media companies to food companies to Pepsi to coca cola and many more companies built from the scratch in America that are now worth over 50 billion dollars.

So the question is do we have home made companies built from the scratch whether offline or online that are worth more than 40 billion dollars in Nigeria?
I will like to know their names?

Note!!! I am talking about built from scratch Nigeria companies whether it's social media or food companies or otherwise.

Business insider realeased a report on this earlier in the month. https://africa.businessinsider.com/local/markets/here-are-the-top-10-most-valuable-companies-in-sub-saharan-africa-by-market/z730zf4

The Top 30 African companies by market Capitalization are worth a combined ~$117bn as at Mar 31 2022.

The MTN Group is the largest [African ] company by market cap. It is worth ~ $24bn.
Dangote group a distant second at ~$11bn.

If there'll be a ~ $40bn company in Africa, it'll be Naspers. However it's not currently listed but its portfolio companies are quite close when combined.

N.B. Private Companies were obviously excluded from this report BUT it's hard to think of any African Private company up to the mettle of a JCB (UK) or Leibherr (Germany). And both these companies aren't even up to $40bn yet.

Why not. All Nigerian banks to start with? Stop being decived by the media. Twitter isn't bigger than many Nigerian companies. Its only backed by public funds from a robust stock exchange market system. Same as Facebook. The giants of Nigeria are arising. No cap mate wink
hahahahahahahahaha. O boy! Ingnorant arrogant people everywhere. There is no single nigerian bank worth 40 billion dollars. First bank is only worth about 5.6 trillion naira. Which is just a bit over $10billion
