Amen.
I had been waiting for your landing gist nwanne. May you enjoy milk and honey in your new found land.
I'm next in line!

Hello beautiful people .

LANDING GISt

I want to apologize for taking over a week to update the house on my landing gist. I will try to make it short .

On the 24th of April I got to Port Harcourt international airport to board my flight with Lufthansa airline. After the usual check by the immigration officers at the door , I proceeded to Print my boarding pass . The Lufthansa staff requested for my passport, Arrive Can, admission letter and proof of enrollment. Afterwards my boarding pass was handed over to me with my documents and my bags checked in .

Then I was asked to meet the immigration officers (boarder officers ) and they requested for my passport and boarding pass. one of the officer was busy asking for my WAEC result ( delay tactics to extort me . I didn’t give them shishi . ) when he got tired ,he finally stamped my passport and asked me to go .

We left PHC at 8:00pm and arrived Abuja at 8:50pm for technical stop over ( to pick passengers in Abuja) . The delay was for 1hr:30 mins before we took off to Frankfurt. The food was good and I ate everything that was served grin . I slept most of the time and finally we reached Frankfurt at 5:15am.

At Frankfurt Airport , they only asked for passport and Arrive can . After 5hrs layover. We continued our journey to Calgary. I won’t lie I got tired of this trip to Calgary. It was so long and I didn’t even sleep the entire 9hrs 45mins and even got tired of watching movies ..The flight attendant warned me twice for not wearing my nose mask properly and threatened to report if she cautions me for the third time ( you can be fined 5,000cad in Canada for not wearing your mask when you are on transit). For my mind I say which kind witch be this one . I could not breath very well but I say make I just obey before my village people go use me do scapegoat.

Finally we landed at Calgary and I went straight to one of the computer for self declaration. I was quick because I wanted to get to the Boarder office on time because the crowd was much . The boarder officer that attended to me only asked for my passport and admission letter . He asked if I have paid my fees and how I intend to pay the balance . Then he issued me study permit and work permit ( please ensure your collect your work permit if your program is co-ops). At this point I was mad happy . Finally , I went back to the boarding gate to catch my flight to Edmonton.

I am loving it here !

I wish everyone waiting for decision good luck . God will put a smile on your faces. [/quote]

Hello gurus,

I have secured a fully funded program at the USASK, 38,000CAD for the duration of 2yrs. My tuition fee is 8,095 CAD/yr, I also have 3.7m (about 11,000 CAD) in my Savings account for my wife and daughter living and additional expenses in Canada.
I have started my visa application but I wish to include my wife and 11 months old daughter. Can this fly, if I explain why I want my wife to follow me, our baby needs both parents at this stage of her life and leaving her and the mother could infringe on her right of access to parental care.

Please I need support on how I can package my application as I don't want to lose this opportunity. Thank you as you contribute.

If you can defend why you are carrying all your ties with you then add them because canada is sweeter when you are with your family, anytime I tell any family that I am alone they will just turn me to their adopted child for some while but it's sweet here in canada wink

Before you think of points to convince the visa officer why you're going with your family, what are your home ties? It could be the tiebreaker in the officer's decision!

Thanks a lot Lekkiboboe. I will guide her to do the needful.

Really appreciated.

Lekiboboe:

Ok

Many things might have caused her not to get the admission

As required by the department the Pol. Science faculty

- Her last two years might not be enough (70% upward )

- Her Statement of intent (also known as SOP for admission) might not be convincing enough. They require 70-75% GPA in her last two years in the University.

- Her writing sample in English might not be dope enough etc.

- Her not securing a supervisor before applying can be part of why she didn't get the admission

- It's possible the admission committee of uvic didn't see course prerequisites that can make her good a fit (eligible) for a Masters in Political Science

- Competition as well with others etc.

As it is said on Uvics website, she needs to secure a supervisor before applying for the admission, cos most of these Canadian Universities, securing a Prof. makes the application of an applicant solid and it's usually a requirement for a thesis-based Masters in Canada

Your niece know her strengths and areas she has ability in. She needs to seat down and do research on the area or areas she knows within herself that she has potentials, Strength in as related to her undergraduate background.

Due to what she studied in China, She might want to consider the likes of

Masters in Economics

Masters in Accounting

Masters in Finance

MBA

Masters in Insurance

Masters in Marketing

Masters in International Relations with research focus on Economics or International trade

Await additional suggestions from others

Regards

@oppemipo
In addition to that, your POF is not yet complete o

For you as the main applicant, let's accept the funding covers you for 2 years.

For your wife and kid, you need $4000 and $3000 respectively for a year. That means, you need $14,000 for both of them in 2 years. And you have $11,000. You're still short of $3,000.

Mind you, you're not expected to have exactly the amount needed, there are some amount of money you should also have for miscellaneous (e.g transportation ticket, emergency spending etc). That may amount to around $3000 CAD each for everyone.

Personally, I'll advise you to leave your wife and kid, and when you get to Canada after 3 months or so, then apply for them to join you. That will also strengthen your home tie. But if you know you have the money and strong home ties, you can go ahead and apply together . But don't forget, you have $38k CAD funding, don't let it go to waste.

Please can someone answer this question.
Can the international passport be used for this purpose also.

@miimssss how do you fill these forms? Do you download and fill with pen then scan back,
or you fill it straight in the system?

miimssss:
Hello

Please please help with this.

While filling the imm1294e form, there’s a part that speaks to National identity document, it also asks for issue date and expiry date. The regular NIN slip doesn’t contain this info. Is it okay to leave this blank ?

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by oppemipo(m): 3:10pm On May 02, 2022
I think International passport would have been better
