Dem suppose test am for you before taking it home. Check that VFT display, press the little button just below it to show the frequency. It should not be less than 50.

The frequency is showing above 50, between 51 -52.

How about the noise. Anyway to confirm its the actual decibel?

The Gen is quite loud for a brand new.
Apart from that, every other thing is okay.

The frequency is ok, for the noise there's nothing you can do about it. I am abit surprised because the bigger one is not noisy. Hope you are not comparing the noise with that of many boutique owners. Many of them have reduced the running speed to very minimal levels.

Can anyone tell me about the iTec 3.5kva gen. How good is it? In terms of capacity, how efficient is it?

Please help me. The prce is 142k on Konga and my budget is 150k.

Is there a better alternative, I will appreciate the quick feedbacks.

I have a sumec Firman 3800ER with remote control, unfortunately the AVR was changed and the sensor of the remote is attached to the AVR, so now remote no longer works, is there anywhere I can get the AVR with the remote sensor? Secondly, the voltage reduces to about 185v on heavy load which doesn't power some loads; what can I do about it as I also noticed it smokes a little on start up but stops after a few seconds.

You should increase the speed to 50 but it will not improve the voltage because of the AVR. You should increase the voltage from your AVR after increasing the frequency.

My gen is tec major , how can the voltage be increased from the avr? Cause the technician i spoke with talked of changing it totally

You have to open the coil side of the generator to locate the AVR, you can check YouTube on how to adjust it. Sylva1 did it himself, you can check the previous page for his post.

Some persons say its good but I don't have first hand experience with it. Maybe you should seek the counsel of a trusted engineer ( not seller) . I can only recommend Sumec and Thermocool for now.

Thanks bro, I wasn't too comfortable with his reply, so I searched further on YouTube and discovered that I can actually adjust the voltage supply from the AVR. There is a potentiometer at the back of the AVR which when adjusted anti-clockwise reduces the voltage supply. I did that and the voltage has normalised.

Can it be adjusted when the gen is off? To avoid electric shock.

I adjusted it while the gen was running. You really have to be careful not to touch the live parts.

I don't understand what you mean, but you can also try adjusting it while the gen is off and chack the output when you put it on, if it's more convenient for you!

Very nice! Will be better if you can make the frequency just over 50 so you won't need to be checking always. 50.7 to 51 is not bad.
