Subsaharan:

I also find it interesting that Rwanda is a matrilineal society, Nigeria is largely patrilineal

The peoples of W.Africa are predominantly of the Bantu stock.

I've only heard of racial? discriminations in Mauritania (lingering legacies of the trans-Saharan slave trade)

But it seems racial discriminations are more profound in East Africa(Rwanda, Somalia, Ethiopia)

I have also noticed that the power plays in East Africa seem to be ferocious possibility because of the country's largely equal political, geographical, and demographical parity.

I feel like I have to ask this, and I would love your undiluted opinion on this.

why do you think that Nigeria or Nigerians are geopolitical "Lilliputians" you put it, banter aside. how did you reach this conclusion? (I wouldn't mind another lengthy read, lol)

Finally, I enjoyed your piece, thank you so much.

Hmm...that's rather open ended needing a long explanation! Idk much about wider EA but ofc Somalis feel superior to everyone and have beef with ALL BLACK PEOPLE in the diaspora. Caribbeans in London say the same things Black Americans in Ohio or Minnesota say:" why are they like this? Do they hate everyone or is it just blacks?"
They're extremely attached to their phenotype and have derogatory words for non Kushites,'adoon,' meaning sub human or 'jareer.' You should know Somali bantus suffered possibly more than any any other minority on the continent. What makes it worse is that Somali males who traditionally tightly controlled their women have to see them get dicked down regularly by despised outsiders-its also happening here in Kenya with many Somali women increasingly marrying out.
Ethiopians, especially Habeshas are similar but IME,not nearly as attached to the conceit of their phenotype. I've noticed a lot of them incl Oromo are surprised when they land here and find so many Kenyans with Semitic and Kushite features-I'm often confused for Borana even by Kikuyus! There is however a definite racist element in their society-many use the term barya, slave for non Kushites and Semites like the Southern Omo river peoples, the Hamar (Amarkoke),seen here with whom we share DNA from ancient migrations. I had a Nilotic Anuak pal early 2000s who told me they're openly despised.
The truth is historically we cooperated more often than not-not just intermarriage. Kikuyus and Masaais were so close we would've merged! Here's my 4G grandfather on mum's side, waiyaki wa hinga, buried alive by the Brits: his great grandson,IIRC,had a daughter,Ngina, who married Jomo in the late 50s. Like many Southern Kyukes he was adapted from the Maasaai. I met his youngest bro in 1980 when he was at least 110.
For starters, while waiyaki is thought to have hailed from the Kikuyu community, the book traces the warrior-king’s roots to the Masai of Laikipia.

The author reveals for the first time that waiyaki’s real name was Koiyaki and that his father’s name was Kumale ole Lemotaka, from Laikipia.

https://nairobilawmonthly.com/index.php/2018/08/03/lawyer-traces-kikuyu-warrior-waiyaki-wa-hinga-to-maa-roots

Similarly Chief Lenana of the Maasai was Kyuke!

Again, it is best presented in Leakey’s own words, “The Maasai were always particularly keen to make use of Kikuyu medicine men and diviners, and it was due to this that the Kikuyu sub-clan known as Mbari a Gatherimu gradually obtained enormous power over the Kaputei Maasai, some members of this Kikuyu family eventually becoming chiefs of this section of the Maasai tribe. The famous Maasai chief Lenana [Ol Onana] was the son of Mbatia, a Kikuyu. Mbatia was the son of Gathirimu and Lenana was the recognised chief of all the Kaputei Maasai at the time of the coming of the Europeans.”

A very interesting read on cultural links: the author assumes we dropped a matriarchical culture due to the Masaai but imo,it may have happened in S Ethiopia. These links are replicated with all other groups though Idk the details-Luos/Kalenjins,Luhyias/Luos,us and Kambas all cooperated more often than not.

I do know in Ug,the Baganda should rule, with their money, population and proximity to the centre which counts for much more than most know or accept but made some strategic blunders at Uhuru. They demanded only their king should rule and caused friction exploited by M7 decades later.
As for the Tutsis we've already covered them.

Edit: We're ALL Lilliputians. We've only just begun manufacturing rifles last year. You guys with your oil wealth should at LEAST be on the level of Malaysia economically speaking with their 12500 $ GDP per capita. Instead you're near our level. All my pals who've been to the capital, say yes,KL looks like this! Saffas likewise with their mature arms industry should be far ahead with more platforms incl extra Grips,Rooivalks, frigates and even subs but that's not what their real leaders,a tiny Anglo Jewish elite wants.

Nautic Africa launches another Sentinel vessel for West Africa

Nautic Africa, a subsidiary of Paramount Maritime, has launched another 35 metre long Sentinel vessel, the MV Tuguemi, which will be deployed in the Gulf of Guinea region.
The vessel was christened at Hamlet Quay in Elliot Basin in Cape Town, marking the third launch of the 35 metre version of the Sentinel series.

As it is designed to operate in dangerous waters, the aluminium-hulled vessel features composite ballistic armour on its wheelhouse and main deck accommodation structure, while gun mounts and ballistic shields are fitted to offer coverage around the vessel. Wheelhouse protection is up to NATO STANAG Level II and deckhouse ballistic protection to STANAG Level I.

Powered by three Caterpillar C32 main engines each developing 1 193 kW and driving three propellers, the Sentinel has a range of 1 300 nautical miles at economical speed (top speed is nearly 30 knots). With a length of 35 metres, a beam of 7.5 metres and draught of 2 metres, the Sentinel has six cabins for both crew and security personnel.

The Sentinel’s 11×6 metre cargo deck can further accommodate 20 tons of cargo or a 20-foot shipping container. A 6.5 metre semi-rigid boat can also be launched via a davit.

“The launch of the 35 metre Sentinel Vessel, named the MV Tuguemi, is yet another milestone in our production of a world class product made proudly in Africa, for Africa,” said Paramount Maritime CEO Lee Connolly.

“Indeed, the ramifications of maritime piracy, including kidnappings and even assaults plague the whole of Africa’s trajectory, not just their points of origin. Rule of law in Gulf of Guinea (GoG) territorial waters and their associated blue economic zones has been routinely challenged and such crimes hit record-heights during the COVID-19 pandemic, which in turn exacerbated already-constrained supply chains across the continent”.

In February 2020 Nautic Africa launched a new 35 metre Sentinel vessel for Nigerian customer Hadnuvo Marine Ltd. The vessel, MV Khajan, was the first model of the new design in this class. A second 35 metre Sentinel, also for the Gulf of Guinea, was launched in February 2021. Nautic has over the last decade built a large number of Sentinel vessels for export customers.

Nautic Africa also announced that larger naval versions (40 metres and 47 metres) of the vessel have been made available due to rising interest from navies, and will be offered globally to bolster military and fishing patrol operations across EEZ waters.

Its almost 70 years since enemy AF bombs killed US troops!

Its known a mixed flight of Po U2s and Yak 18s were involved in the April 15 1953 nighttime raid that killed 2 US servicemen of A Battery of the 933rd Anti-Aircraft Artillery (Automatic Weapons) Battalion on Cho do island. The previous plane was well obsolete having been designed in the 20s!

The US Air Force is proud of the fact that no member of the American military’s ground forces has been killed by an enemy air strike in more than half a century. It is an accomplishment officials have long believed speaks to the superiority of the American approach to airpower—and the need to pay the price in money and effort to maintain that superiority.

But history can be a great teacher. Perhaps there is something to be learned about the approach necessary to keep this US record going by looking back at that last ground fatality. The basic fact—no US ground troop has been killed in an attack by an enemy aircraft since 1953—is frequently repeated by airpower advocates. It neatly captures the importance of both air superiority and the Air Force’s skill in dominating the skies.
https://www.airforcemag.com/article/0611april/

Tbh,the article should state the US only fights 3rd and 4th worlders starved by years of sanctions and lack of spare parts or without any air power. Granada,Panama,Iraq etc,etc come to mind.

I'm a Scar H fan from back in the days of Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter, I'd kit out my character with a SCAR H and I needed was 2 bullets to tactically take down a foe... Unfortunate it's hard to get one (SCAR 17S) in SA gun shops.

Meanwhile, in Mozambique...

A major part of SAS SPIOENKOP’s involvement in Operation VIKELA (OP VIKELA) is to conduct a seaward barrier patrol along the chain of islands to the north of Pemba, Mozambique.
The barrier patrol does not only serve as a visible deterrence for possible Al-Sunnah Wa Jama’ah (ASWJ) movements, but also serves as a forward deployment platform for Maritime Reaction Squadron (MRS) to launch the Dorado boats onboard SAS SPIOENKOP and conduct shallow water island patrols.
The purpose of the shallow water island patrols is for MRS members to familiarise themselves with the terrain, board any suspicious vessels and gather additional information about possible ASWJ activity in the area.
On occasion, these patrols are conducted jointly with Forças Armadas de Defesa Mozambique (FADM) Patrol Boats.
