The situation gets worse in Imo State, a place where the Nigerian Army have conducted several extra-judicial killings and burnt down communities such as Izombe, Awo-Mmamma and Orlu. Needless to say that many Imolites are not fans of the Nigerian Army

But what is striking is that a day after the Army couple were killed, with no investigation whatsoever, the Army spokesman, Brigadier Nwachukwu, has put out a statement accusing IPOB of committing the act, but proffered not one single evidence to back up his claim

Gone are the days people, or a group, are accused of a serious crime, based on sentiments alone. If the Nigerian Army, or Brigadier Nwachukwu, has any shred of evidence that IPOB is responsible for killing the couple, make it public. This foolishness of making a public statement and accusing a group of committing a crime, based on nothing but sentiments, should stop.
