Congratulations on your visa approval.

Number 1 is a big fat lie. The person who said that probably mixed it up. The only thing you won't get access to with a one way ticket is a PTA (personal travel allowance) using Form A. Canada won't send you back because you don't have a return ticket.

No idea of accommodation in Vancouver.

thanks alot for this.

Hello great people.
Please be kind enough to help me out. I have been an ardent follower of UK and Aussie migration routes so I didnt try to know much about Canny waka.
My scenario
I got disappointed by my UK school and I immediately read through this thread and eventually got an admission offer from a College in Ontario for September intake for a course of 8months with a total tuition fee of $17k
I need to pay $9.6k for acceptance but the issue is I have just the tuition fee and not the living expenses of $10k.
Also, I am far gone in my Aussie movement and can get PR anytime soon so not too keen about the Canada PGWP even though I want it.
Strong ties is a business, landed inheritance, nuclear and aged parent.
Please advise:
Will the course duration pose a problem at the visa office?
Can a gift deed of over $10k affect my chances?
Can I get study loans for that duration also considering that it is from a college?
If there are loan agents willing to offer a loan, and I present a Canadian cosigner, will this also affect my application?
Can I use a loan from an individual and show evidence of same?
Should I mention my Australian visa application during interview?
My tuition deposit for the UK school is yet to drop in my account, can I initiate another form A payment? ie if it still works.
Should I even try to go further?

So sorry for the epistle and help me out.
Thanks

Hello everyone, please if my dad is my sponsor but is willing to transfer the full tuition and living expense to my account since it is a PGC for one year. Do I still need to provide any documents relating to him? If yes, what documents do I need to show? I will be providing my bank statement showing the funds in my account and a gift letter already. Secondly, if I am granted a study leave by my company, asides the employment letter and study leave approval letter, what else do I need to provide? Thirdly, I heard that travel history is a reason for refusal, I have a new passport with no visa on it as I have not travelled outside Nigeria before. I am concerned that this may crop up, has anyone experienced this issue and was refused visa? Lastly, where can I get a template for study leave letter and gift letter? Thanks in anticipation of your response.

If your Austrailian PR is sure and happening soon, dont come and waste money on schools in Canada. Canada and Australia cultures are similar due to effect of European domination and colonization. Generally, people earn more in Australia. Your eight month course of 17k is also an expensive bad idea. You can use that money to settle properly in Australia after your PR. Trust me, you will need the money badly to make your life easier in the first few months. Focus on Australia if it is near and sure. Except there is more to it, Canada for you is a distraction and waste of money.

bad idea I won’t advise you to waste such amount for a course of 8 months
If the Australia PR is certain focus on that if you was to focus on Canada it’s advisable you go for at least a 2 year course faster process to PGWP then PR.

It's possible if you book your biometrics appointment for 8am and you get there early. Biometrics is usually less than 1hr once you get into the building.

Medicals takes about 5hrs but you can get there before 10-11 and still meet up. Once you gain Access into the building, they won't close till the last person comes out.

Only thing you should consider is the time required to move from biometrics center to hospital for medicals. If it's Lagos, you know you people's traffic is a big problem cheesy cheesy. Abuja people can try it without having HBP.

Remember to book both biometrics and medical appointments before going there.

freshdude:
Hi Everyone, Please what is the time duration for Medicals. Does it take a whole day? I am looking at doing medicals and biometrics the same day if time permits. for the people that have done their medicals, kindly confirm how many hrs it took for them to complete all necessary test. Thanks.

Has anyone made a Form A payment through Flywire? How did you circumvent this?

Hello AOlalere,

Considering the length of your program, there is no need for your dad to transfer the funds to you. It will make a lot of sense if he pays your full tuition directly from his account since he's your sponsor. The LE alone can be transferred to you. Leave the gift deed alone and let your dad support your application with the Letter of Sponsorship. Any lump sum should be addressed adequately.

It will help your application very well if you provided relevant and sufficient documents of your sponsor that justify his employment (sources of funds), economic establishments, etc. There are never too many documents, especially if it is required to explain, prove, or justify your situation.

Ensure you include your payslips, ID card, awards, promotion letter(s), as well as documents that prove your economic establishments (home ties), etc.

Focus more on demonstrating solid socioeconomic home ties than worry about your fresh passport. There have been a lot of applicants that got approved without any travel history or experience. What matters is demonstrating you have a genuine intent to study and will depart upon the authorized stay in Canada. You can also tell the officer about your intra-country tours.

Best of Luck

Yes. If your deferral is approved your LOA will read a new due date that will be sometime in November thereabouts.

Good day everyone,
I finally got my acceptance letter from centennial college after making a deposit of 2650 dollars. But in the acceptance letter it states I should pay the remaining fees of 6680 dollars before June 25th.
The program is starting by September.
But as I dey like this, I no fit afford that kind money in just dat shikini period of time.
I'm thinking of deferring to January.
My question now is that, will me deferring my admission to January increase the due date of payment.
Please I need any amount of inputs I can get.

Hello Bomsilaga,

As you may know already, Aussie and Canada share information. It will be wise to declare what you have going on with the Aussies. Aside from this, if the delay with your Aussie PR application that's why you are intending to apply for the Canadian study permit, IRCC may also give you a run for your patience.

Except that the PR application is not sure, then it will be a good idea to proceed with your study plans in Canada, which also serves as a good backup. Australia is a very good country with almost the same way of life as Canada and New Zealand, but more expensive to live in.

The length of your program will not pose any harm to your study permit application nor will a financial deed gift. If you intend to get a study loan from an individual or any persons not related to you, it will be wise not to tag it as a study loan as it may reduce the ability to demonstrate your level of economic establishment in your country. Rather it could be tagged as a loan/debt repayment or return on investment backed with adequate documentation.

Thank you so much. Your advice is well appreciated.

ShowYoung:

Having experience in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, I think GCert in Industrial Automation is good for you because:
1. GCert will show academic and career progression.
2. You can easily switch to Industrial Automation being an engineer if you can convince the visa officer and if there's undoubtable proofs that the job prospect is good.

If you choose to study Computer Programming at diploma level, visa officer may have a concern that you have BEng already, why going for diploma now especially that your job duty is nothing related to Computer Programming or Software Engineering? Apart from that, there is a 10 year study gap, this can be supplemented by your job experience.

Hence, it is natural that an Electrical Engineer may desire to switch career to Industrial Automation for the fact that it is reasonably feasible with good explanations to convince the visa officer

Good Morning Everyone

I hope everyone is having a good day

I have a study permit that is expiring on the 11th of June, 2022 because of my passport.

I am renewing my passport at the moment but it is still yet to come so

I would like to know if I can start my application for study permit renewal without the new passport and I would like to know how I can go about the matter??

If there is anything else I need to know about, please kindly share

Thank you very much

Hello EPICUnleashed,

Apologies for my late response. It will make no difference if you extend your study permit using the soon-so-be expired passport because the new permit will also be issued within the validity duration of the PP. First, get your PP before applying for an extension otherwise you have to spend another fund renewing your permit again.

You should stop studying once you are out of status, but can keep studying once you have applied to extend your permit even before a decision is reached. Go to Nigeria embassy in Ottawa to renew your PP. For further guidance, speak to your school's international office or immigration advisor.

Hello Johnwisdom1032,

You will need to provide as many relevant documents as possible, including his payslip or CAC if he is self-sponsored, ID card, investments evidence, properties, proof of relationship to you, etc.

Your uncle is a third-party sponsor and it will help your application if he pays your first-year tuition and has your LE transferred to you given the high cost of UG study in Canada.

Hello Toceen2022,

Except for the reason of using the previous employment letter/information to demonstrate your employability in your country or intention to come back to work for your uncle in what happens to be a future job offer, the reference letter will suffice.
