Hi, glad I stumbled on this thread, thanks for all the great tips and information.

Last year I got an LG smart inverter AC 1.5hp, couldn't get a technician from LG so I called someone else. He fixed it and it was chilling very well. After a few days it started blowing cool air, I discovered the guy in a rush didn't fix some pipes properly and gas was finished.

I called another guy recommended by my neighbour and he fixed the leak but I questioned the gas he refilled but he insisted it was r410 gas, it wasn't cooling like before again. So I decided to call someone else who says there's no leak but it's not cooling properly because it's low on gas, he bought a r410 gas and filled but it still hasn't started cooling after 2hrs. The pipes in the panel out is just cool, the lower pipe isn't freezing but water is coming out from the hose.

What could be the issue? AC works well but it's just blowing cool air like a fan. Is the gas fake?

There are so many fake freon out there so it may be a case of refilling with fake freon. It's a new unit so it should have nothing to do with dirts. The freon that came with the unit was the original so you must also try to get an original too to refill.

Since the other technician said there's no leakage, the unit is probably low on gas.

Technicians mostly buy 1kg of gas, but some unit require more.
Another reason being fake refrigerant.

Your filters might be dirty, hindering air circulation, check if it's dirt clean it with water or just brush the dirt off.

Called another technician and after filling the gas, it was not chilling. He said it's the compressor that's developed a fault

From your writeup the Ac is not up to 2 years, it should still be under warranty.
Compressor warranty is always 10 years

I should have done this.. I bought an LG inverter AC from LG, last year it began making a funny noise, like an alarm, then goes off, then the LED light will be blinking coming on and off.. The technician said it’s from the panel, he disconnected everything and said he was gonna take it to Aswani..

Only for the crazy guy to say that I will pay 20k.: An idiot who had collected 6k twice stating that it was gas leakage..

Is your product still under warranty?

I said even if it’s 10k I do not have that, and I wouldn’t pay.. Now my stuff has been loosen for over 4 months..

Guys I am trying to get a 1hp inverter AC . What is the best to buy . I am getting three units for three rooms . I would also get a 1.5 hp inverter Ac for the parlour. We would wouid mostly be on gen. Light is very bad here. I have a 6.5 hp Elepaq generator.
Also I stay around yaba, where is the best to buy it from ? I was thinking of ordering from Jumia .

My technician opened mine too. When LG sent someone I said it's not been touched. Turns out my compressor is still good and it was bad gas the other technicians have been using. I paid LG 9500 for Gas and my AC is over chilling now on gen mode.

My best advice don't buy used one. Go for new one any LG or Panasonic outlet .

Does anyone have experience with the new Panasonic Nanoe X ACs? They use R32 gas and are quite expensive (500k for the 2HP, 385K for 1.5HP).

Secondly is a 1HP AC sufficient for a room of 21 SQM?
