I wish we had more movies like this... unfortunately movies like this don't break box office records cos people want the usual dumb fun action

I went into this movie expecting something like the Vikings series or The Last Kingdom...but then I realized they were nothing alike...
This movie focuses more on realistic viking lore, their culture, traditions, beliefs, with realistic mostly UNCUT fight scenes , scenes of men dancing around fires, visions, etc
It follows a man with a quest for revenge...he lives and breathes for revenge and to fulfil his fate...
Even when he has the chance to live a happy life, he chooses his fate and vengeance over it...


The plot is nothing we haven't seen before...but what makes the impact is it's execution

The Cinematography is a masterpiece

The lore is one of the most realistic I've seen...the Norse culture, beliefs, language, etc
Add these with the character struggles and visions and interpretation...

The uncut fight scenes are wonderful...
Those who only appreciate fight scenes with 1 million cuts per fight won't understand me here....


Anyway that's a summary...no rubbish LGBTQ message or big budget action movie formula here ...


p.s: my expectations went down after one or two people here gave some kind of weird criticism of the movie here...

To show that what he saw as a child or rather his belief/ view is not exactly how things were...
As a child he was ignorant...in reality things were not as they seemed... (I will not finish this statement to avoid spoilers)

Also for the plot twist later in the movie...


But you just went on a rant without finishing a 2 hour movie...
I wonder how someone like you would watch a show like AOT where you won't get motive or answer for full seasons and even when the answers come...it'll keep coming in bits and bits

An hour too long because it's full of artsy nonsense.

Not my kind of movie.

**Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore**

It's not a bad film, but it's just so... basic. The music was lovely, and the costumes were stunning, the plot though... meh. Between this, 'Crimes of Grindelwald,' and 'Cursed Child,' I reckon we have more than enough evidence that Rowling is truly incapable of writing a a half-decent screenplay. Nothing in the first hour mattered or had an impact on how things turned out. Basically, if you watch the last 20 minutes, you'll get the gist of the entire plot.

Ultimately, it's marginally better than 'Crimes of Grindelwald,' but if WBD decides to skip the final two instalments, I certainly won't lose sleep over it.

Due to lack of exposition, I didn't know the characters well enough to be invested, nor, fear the characters enough to buy into the suspense. The unexpected twist towards the ending was a nice touch, but the drastic tonal shift in the second act didn't work for me. This film was one draft away from being truly great. They simply fell short. Commendable acting and direction, but something was missing.

It could have been better; the acting and atmosphere were fine, but the payoff was minimal. Nevertheless, I appreciate the effort. It wasn't terrible.
