donlittle25:What Pat Beverley did on ESPN today crossed the line in my opinion and was just disrespectful and personal. Why ESPN allowed him to continue with what seemed like a tour throughout the day on their network is even more egregious. You can criticize a player, your peer if you want but this was just too personal. I remember talking about players who play on the edge and need that edge but this didn’t seem like just basketball. CP3 has his flaws in the game, but who doesn’t? What has Pat achieved in the NBA to criticize Paul to the extent he did today throughout the day on ESPN? It did not sit well with me. |

Roland17:Lmaoo. Stephen A and ESPN will do anything for ratings and eyeballs forget |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Thanos(m): 7:30am On May 17, 2022 |
Roland17:Oga, what are you saying? This is what exactly Pat Bev was passing across. The way you people like to protect CP3 and insulate from accountability is mind-boggling. I know the kind of insult Ben Simmons, LeBron James, Kahwi, and PG13 have received from exactly the same so-called analyst. When it comes to CP3, everybody changes their tune. He was trash throughout the series because he was the biggest liability on defense and we kept on exploiting him on mismatches. Pat Bev is preaching. If you like, compare all the stats in the world, the bottom line remains both CP3 nd Pat Bev have 0 championships. |

| Re: The NBA Begins by birdman(m): 10:34am On May 17, 2022 |
Roland17:These days, people get accolades and rep just for saying outrageous things. Even Draymond is on this table - inability to have decorum and know when to shut up is being celebrated. Its the social media era |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Skrrrrrrr: 10:43am On May 17, 2022 |
birdman:Draymond doesn't go out calling other players duds though. He mostly boasts about himself, defends himself and his team and predicts the outcome of some series based on what he thinks. You won't see him insulting another players performance or try shitting on their legacies, unless you come for him first. When Towns was attacking Westbrook, Draymond defended him and fired back at Towns. What Beverly did was below the belt and personal, kicking a man when he is down. Draymond won't do that. |

birdman:Egbon, let's be objective. The biggest Knock on harden who I would say is the best comp for Chris Paul is that he consistently fails to show up in the postseason. Despite the fact that this man has been a one man offensive hub for the majority of his prime and could have one 3 straight MVPs. Now, they have so much attacked harden that the criticism goes beyond his post season play; they talk about his strip club addiction, his inability to keep fit, his foul-baiting style of play. My point is this man gets the brunt of the blame every goddam year for not leading his teams to post season success. But now when it comes to CP3. Because he is friends with everyone and probably his influence amongst players as he served as the president of the NBAP association, no one wants to speak bad off him. It's almost comical. This is someone that is blasphemously called the 'point god' and the steven A's of the planet will consistently not allow us to rest by calling him TOP 5 point guards ever. At this point, I do not want to hear it. Pat Bev acknowledged that he was a great player. But the same way you guys were singing his praise when he had that perfect game against the pelicans. Keep that same energy now. Chikena! P.s Top 5 point guards better than CP3 : Magic, curry, thomas, stockton, kidd, nash |

birdman:Bros, what do you mean by casual? What is the ultimate purpose of an NBA team? No be to win championships abi am I missing something? |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Thanos(m): 11:40am On May 17, 2022 |
benji93:I remember watching a young messi and telling people that when all is said and done, he would be the best to ever do it. People doubted. I can tell you've not watched this kid consistently. No worry. Him go convert all of una one by one. Make him just notch that first championship first. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Thanos(m): 11:54am On May 17, 2022 |
Skrrrrrrr:It's like I have to go and bring excerpts from Pat Bev's commentary to justify his statements. On 'Get Up', he acknowledged the greatness of CP3 but said he could not guard for shit in the series and should have been benched. Did he lie? Do I need to bring clips of possession after possession with doncic and Brunson hunting for CP3? Once the Mavs figured out the whole 'switch everything' defensive scheme the suns were running, it was over. So it is below the belt to call out a player for playing like ass all series long? When they were winning did anybody criticize them? Even with the nonsense 'Luka special' comment from book and the whole 'theo pinson is a great player' backhanded compliment in game 2 from CP3. Now it's excuses, 'oh, he is 37', 'oh, what about booker', 'oh, he was injured','oh, they are kicking a black man when he is down'. Same thing every Goddam superstar in the league has faced, when e reach CP3 turn, all these mofos are saying crap. Abe make we hear word jare. Better tune in today for more truth serum from Pat Bev. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by birdman(m): 2:38pm On May 17, 2022 |
Thanos:Haba, you too, look at what you yourself wrote about Harden, compared to CP3. - goes to strip clubs even nights before road games and so skips practice and film session - refuses to keep fit to get himself out of teams, even though he is getting paid - let me add, now in the mix of 2 team implosions and a third one loading - I skip style of play, that is what you want your superstar to do. Find a way to win So, lets be objective: list your negatives on CP3 that compares to above. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by birdman(m): 2:45pm On May 17, 2022 |
Thanos:Of course, but that has little to do with who the best players are. When you say ring is all that matters when evaluating a player, I beg to differ. Derek Fisher has 5 rings, Robert Horry has 7 rings. Barkley has 0, TMac has 0. Gary Payton 0. So obviously just rings is not enough. That is why there are many good players on the nba 75 anniversary that didnt win a ring. You need a good front office, solid team, solid coach and fewer injuries than your opponent to win a ring. Some of this is outside the control of you individual skill. Go ask Durant how it went this season. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Thanos(m): 3:12pm On May 17, 2022 |
birdman:You are buttressing my point, boss. The people that have an axe to grind against harden are more focused on his off the court antics and personality rather than his play. If we were to remove all the noise and focus strictly on play off resume, CP3 should not be exonerated at all. five 2-0 leads blow, the most by any player ever. Where is the consistency in the criticism? That is all we are asking? The crazy part is asides from his early years with the bobcats. Paul has always been in teams that were at the top of the league and championship contenders, yet in the postseason, they always end up shitting the bed. Please, let's call a spade a spade and stop making excuses for this man. The manner of that loss was nothing short of pathetic. It was not a one game thing. It has become a recurring theme in his career and he deserves every critic he gets. The simple truth of the matter is that if he had a typical Chris paul game of 21 points 14 assists with maybe 12 points In the 4th quarter and a dub, we would revel in the 'Renaissance man' called Chris Paul, so now that he shat the bed, let call it as it is. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Thanos(m): 3:20pm On May 17, 2022 |
birdman:POC: the glove won a ring with Miami in '06. Even though he road the bench sha I admit that. In the context of greatness, I dare say having a ring solidifies your case by 65 %. You can put up all the other worldly stat but if you don't win anything, you'll just be regarded as another good player of his era. I mean, look at John Stockton, the guy is basically looked upon as an afterthought despite being the league leader in assists and steals and it's not even remotely close. People even put paul over him. I mean, if he won just 1 ring, my man's would be viewed differently. If you want to be remembered as a good player for his time, you can focus on winning. You cannot enter the Greatness debate without a chip. Your argument is automatically invalid. You can see it in Charles Barkley eyes everytime on TNT. If the man had just one ring. Just one, all the disrespect from shaq and Kenny would not be happening. So boss, at the end of the day, if you want to claim greatness in any sense, the minimum criteria is winning abeg. |

birdman:Gary Payton won a ring with Miami Heats with Shaq and D Wade. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by donlittle25: 3:42pm On May 17, 2022 |
Skrrrrrrr:I beg to differ somewhat tho. Draymond was one of the people who started name calling players in the league and ex players. Remember Paul Pierce? Saying they don't love you like Kobe. Also Charles Barkley, He said some things even though he is not half the player Barkley was. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by benji93: 3:48pm On May 17, 2022 |
Almost every football fan saw Messi and knew. Similarly, most people here have always known Doncic would turn out great. No be news. . The koko be say, keep this same energy when they get crushed. Also you are a MAVs fan, your belief that you will win is understandable.Thanos: |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Skrrrrrrr: 3:49pm On May 17, 2022 |
donlittle25:Which is why I said he don't go shitting on your legacy if you don't come for him. What do both these guys have in common, they were both analysts and both hating on him at the time. The day Draymond said that shit to Pierce, Pierce was on the sideline, calling him out, it was a back and forth. And of course, you know about Barkley's hatred for the warriors, claiming they are a jump shooting Team who play girly basketball. They were both retired btw. Draymond won't come out and say a player was awful and didn't deserve the hype he was getting after a series. Paul didn't even do nothing to Beverly. That's the difference. |

| Re: The NBA Begins by birdman(m): 7:54pm On May 17, 2022 |
Thanos:No, its on court. If you partied hard the night before and cant play in sync the next night because you missed practice, its on court. If you sulk and choose to take only 2 shots in do or die game 6, its on court. CP3 has neither of these issues. To compare them is overreaching |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Thanos(m): 9:07pm On May 17, 2022 |
birdman:My oga, we are saying the same thing. Didn't you see the stats? CP3 was shooting 50 % from the field. The problem was, he just stopped shooting after game 2. My man's only shot the ball 8 times in 3 quarters in the final game. Even out of that 8 shots, 3 were in the 4th quarter when they were down by 40 and all of the mavericks starters were benched. So since you are criticizing harden for only shooting twice in the second half of their loss to the heat, why are you not criticizing paul for exactly the same thing? Are you not seeing the double standards? You are beginning to sound like steven A. bros with these mental gymnastics o |

I'd be shocked if the Celtics don't wipe this Heat team in 5. People will appreciate more the work Giannis did once this series is done See how TimeLord is feasting |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Khanben: 2:47am On May 18, 2022 |
Great first half so far, the Celtics game plan so far has been top notch, feasting on the inside and taking advantage of playing against a smaller team. Already shooting mid 50% from around 12ft in. Ime adapting to the match up so far, waiting on Eric's answer |
