I didnt take my phone to church today as it was on charge, so when i returned i saw 2 missed calls one was from my jnr sister and the other was from a strange number.

So i returned the call from the strange number and it turned out to be a young man (from the voice) according to him his old father mistakenly sent #1000 recharge card to my phone and he was pleading for me to send it back.

I hung up to check my phone and almost immediately i received a text message with airtime pin and #1000, called back the number gave him the pin and advice him to be more careful after awhile the number called thanking me he also said his father (the old man who sent the card) wanted to thank me.

I greeted the old man and he sounded happy and was blessing me, my people this man was blessing me until according to him his credit wan finish so he suggested i give him a call. me not wanting to disrespect an old man and receiving blessing from the elderly (who wouldn't like that).

I called back and the blessing continued untill...
it's very old fraud style, they did that to me in 2017, I course both the young and the old man together

My small credit was exhusted and i rush my guy phone make i use him credit call the papa, the old man would ask ur business and he would bless that angle.

As my guy wake up hear the nature of the call naso him vex say na fraudster i use him credit dey call, i hung up he began to give me instances and people who have been do victims.

According to him after you have trusted the oldman the fraudster would initiate a discussion that would warrant you to send money to him, i just weak, two minutes later he called back and i told him i dnt have credit to call him back he hungup immediately.

For an old man to do yahoo yahoo dat means this society is on a time bomb

There are phones and many apps that can change voices to that of a baby, an old man, croaked voice of a big man, female voice etc Only one Yahoo boy can be all the above.

Even live video calls can be manipulated that a boy under Yaba bridge will be a white man calling from Texas.

Make una no dey suegbe.

It happened to a colleague of mine at work. He received the call a day b4 yesterday. He was gisting us about it yesterday morning.

The way he responded to them at the 1st call they didn’t even bother to send him the pin or call him back as u said.

If u respond to them politely they will hypnotize u and scam u

That old man you think is thesame boy that called you.

They know how to change their voice to different tones.. Scammers are getting cunning as the day goes by.

It is happening everyday. The other day, somebody called me from somewhere in the south west and said he mistakenly sent recharge numbers amounting to N3000 and I should please forward them back to him. I checked and found what were like three MTN numbers at N1000 each. Meanwhile, I have since been tipped off about such scam. And unfortunately for him, I have not even sent back the numbers to him before he called me back thanking me for sending the numbers back to him. Pronto, he said his "father" was standing there with him and would want to pray for me because I am "a good man". Of course I was good enough to cut off the call at that point. I had been made to understand that it is purely for ritual or fetish purposes at some point, and not mere persuasive talks.

Some times na young guy de form old man voice (in my case the guy was a very bad actor) it was when they got to that stage of me talking to his 'papa' that I remembered a friend of mine had posted this exact experience on Facebook years ago, no be new thing. I just told them to getat. Not long after then, I had two other friends with exactly the same experience, luckily I was around when the scammers called in both cases and I did the same thing - collected the phone and told them to getat!

They wanted to scam me when I was jobless, but the airtime came in before they call in my own case.

Despite my 'kobolessness' and 'creditlessless' that characterized my pocket and phone respectively, I was not moved to utilize the call card.

I spoke with Baba at the end of the day and he said his elderly prayers. The way I was saying 'amen' to Baba's prayer, a sensitive man would have realized that I was expectant.

Baba asked for what I was doing bla bla bla and I didn't hesitate to tell him that I was jobless. He expressed shock that I was so faithful even though I was extremely broke.

Las las, Baba inquired whether I could visit him at Ile-Ife for spiritual help. I told him point black that my faith didn't support such kind of action. I further stressed that his prayers were enough for me and that I am satisfied.

Omo! I received my letter of appointment in the following week, after economic recession got me sacked in my previous place of work.

The above was my experience as at December, 2017.

This your own story make more sense.

In the version of this type of your story that i have heard, the baba will call you, and then tell you that he wants to pray for you, and then ask you to pour water in a basin and add salt to it.

At some point, you will start vomiting blood and your own don go be dat o because baba don use you do Yahoo plus.

But I didn't sent back cus, the manner the masg do enter only was suspicious..... Because it was after the call that the msg came in.
And how will u be asking for a msg that's already in your sent box. So I blocked cus I don't want any stories that touches the soul.......

Yeah, had similar experience about 2 years ago, or one. i don't even know how many times they have called. Am sure it's more than 10.
Points
1. You'll only see the message after you pick their call and they talk to you, if not, you'll see missed call
2. They always say their papa wants to thank you
3. the papa usually does that long prayer

i don't know about the hypnosis, but the papa told me something about being the cheif native doctor for (i think) ogun state, that he has help many politicians and cheifs, do i want him to help me?
i told him am a muslim and he cut the call.
There are using the same format
Mine was same two years ago, during the lock down.
They always call on Sundays when you're coming back from church. I was asking him why he wanted me to send the card pin back to him when he can easily get it from the phone he used to send but he kept saying it's a china phone and it does not save sent messages, Omo immediately I hung up, the card entered and I sent back it to him. Long story cut short when his said old baba started thanking me and his fake blessing I already knew they were up to something, so I waited for him to land, he finally ended that I should buy different colours of candle, coconut orishirishi for him to bless me, I just told him I'm a Christian and I know God I serve, so I don't need all those things to get blessed.
I warned them not to call my number again. Though I enjoyed the old man's Yoruba intonation

I think this is the latest format in town. A friend of mine had an encounter, what saved him from doing the bid of the scammers was someone that was around when the scam call came in. Once the caller from the other end of the phone gets your full attention, they would use it to hypnotize you

Na very old format oh! Infact, too old self dey worry am. This format don dey reign since 2017. I no even know say scammer still dey use am.
