With 3m - 4m your question should be how to get a truthful, reliable dealer that will sell a genuine car to you.

Get a good mechanic too to accompany you

Toyota, Mazda, Honda

Every car has a high maintenance cost, the way you use and pay attention to it matters most..

Depends on where you live and what you intend to do with the car..

With that budget, A lexus es300,330 or 350 direct Belgium is your best bet..

Or
Camry either spider(four cylinder) , camry 2.4 is cool.

If you like SUV, you can bargain for a lexus 330 as well.

Go with a trusted Mechanic...And don't joke with maintenance.

Avoid corolla...Too many theft case.

For Camry your options are between 2007-2010 V6 (Stay away from the 4 cylinder)

Or 2O11 4 cylinder

Then Corolla, I don't know why people are talking about theft but I believe there's no car that's not thief(able)

Just take your car safety serious.

2006 -2013 Corolla are okay, just pick any year that fits your budget

As a first car, you can never go wrong with a Corolla.

Before I even read this thread I knew many people would say toyota. Toyota lovers won't let us rest! They talk as if toyotas don't need maintenance and forget that toyotas especially their beloved corolla are not high performance cars and are dull to drive ! They are mass produced and cheap compared to mercedes bmw lexus etc. If you can afford a benz or beamer do not buy a toyota because its far less exciting to drive . Im on my 7th bmw and loving it! Nigeria's economy is the main reason why corollas are everywhere but if you can afford to ,enjoy your life as much as possible . The driving experience is not the same with a performance car!

Buy a 2014 Camry, XlE, 4plugs (6plugs consumes too much fuel) and you would never regret it.

This I have seen.
3-4m can’t buy it, unless Nigerian used. Didn’t you see this too?

Seconded!

OP, whatever you buy, make sure it's not a Corolla because that overrated toy-car is for sad boys.

Best choice Sedans are;

1. Lexus ES 350, 2010 upwards
2. Toyota Camry 2010 upwards.
3. Honda Accord. 2012 Upwards.

This makes no sense because you assume Nigeria is USA or something. Corolla, although with a lesser performance than Camry or Luxury is ideal in a developing country like Nigeria for economical reasons.

What you see as value may be different from what someone else sees as value, if you are very rich then a Lexus is more logical. If you’re an average guy (like the majority of car buyers in Nigeria), then a Corolla makes more sense and should be more valuable. Perhaps he would just go for a Sport version to a bit of class.

So, you mean a Toks 2011 Corolla @N4m is a better value than 2012 Camry at same 4m?

My opinion, you don't need to buy your first car for a lot of money. You can safely find good used cars under $500 or under $1000. There are many cars under $500 for sale on the internet, but you have to look carefully at different car sites http://blog.automotive-technology.com/best-used-cars-under-500-for-sale-automobile-guide/ , here is one of them to find the best deals. Failure to do so could portend regret and wasteful spending.

Hi Godman007, was yours a Lexus GS350 as well?

Kindly share contact details of a good mechanic that can help resolve it. Thank you

Nope, mine isn't a Lexus. I drive a Toyota Corrolla 2010.
I'll advise you use your regular mech, but just suggest the inner cup bearing may be the fault, so he can check it.
Pls also watch enough youtube videos, it'll guide you to the likely cause of the problem.
Gracias.
