So the owners of Caritas University Emene were digging a borehole in search of water for the University but ended up discovering Natural Gas. The Natural Gas deposit has been burning since two days now.

I live close to the place but I can't take well lit pictures right now cos it is dark. Anyways, I just took pictures of the sky getting lit up by the burning gas.

I just wish that this is put to good use.

And this is also a note to folks who say the South East has no resources. Guess what, you have all been lied to since time immemorial. As a matter of fact, the SE has Gold deposits, Crude Oil, Natural Gas, Coal, to mention a few. This is for those people who always shout our oyel. The Igbos are after our oyel. I will not call names but they sure know themselves.

Enough said, lemme post some pictures as at the time of writing this report.

Didn't you read the topic? They were digging a borehole. After going several feet deep into the ground, they discovered the Natural gas deposit. A pipeline network should not be laid several feet down. We are talking about more than Two hundred and seventy-something feet into the ground.

For them to hit natural gas 200ft that means alot of gases are in that geologic zone..

This is no news, we all know the East has a huge deposit of natural gas.

The East is really blessed. Which is more than I can say for those from the arid region, who have cursed their grounds with too much blooshed.

Gas is the future.
The state govt shld do the needful.

Enugu equally have uranium, our electricity problems can be solved by it...

U don't blame the op. The university has a long wall fence around their large expanse of land. And the Rev Father wey get the university no go won hear say u enter I'm university I'm go use army pursue you. So the op can do more than he did

Nothing to celebrate yet until the federal govt allows states to control their resources imo state have the largest gas deposit but yet can't even account for the quantity that's pumped out to bonny daily there's absolutely nothing on ground to show that the state have such huge deposits of natural gas.

I am the op. Even if they refuse my entry, I will try as best I can to capture a close up image or better still make a video of the burning gas.

It not just pathetic but really annoying! All these natural resources, yet it's all being siphoned off in the name of 'one Nigeria'.....with some Igbo-hating Fulani sat in Abuja controlling everything and diverting benefits to Daura while Imo youth burn to death!

Just saw the report confirmed on AriseTV news. Just as the OP said, they were drilling a borehole but went a bit too deep and hit gas instead. As at the time of the report, the gas was still burning.

Be careful when going close also, the area should have been condoned off for safety purpose.
