Thanks @Makano
makano:
Hello Tosynn

Your refusal reason is very common amongst refused applicants and it is easy to tackle..

Just wait for your GCMS notes to be ready so you will know the concerns of the Visa Officer..

It can still be tackled without a GCMS notes though, like I said earlier its a common refusal reason.. Personally I do not need to see GCMS note to know how to tackle personal assets and financial status, but for a newbie like you, you will need to wait for the GCMS notes, and when its ready, gurus here will help you out..

Peace

Yes I already know when the issue is cuz I requested for gcms note last month and get this comment attached here

I posted it on here and people advice and send reference letters from the bank and the sponsor and I did but maybe it's too late..

Now I think I need a guru that know how to tackle this to help me out @makano and others that know about this

I get your point but the applicant himself knows where he missed it hence the reason cited, his case is not difficult to address.

Besides, just as VO's varies in their assessment, every applicant situation is different too, that's why I don't like making reference to other people situation, it's better to deal with your own case. He has already told us an agent helped him with his financial document and perhaps did something fishy

I know people who have addressed their simple generic reason and before their gcms came out they got their PPR, I only subscribe to gcms note in cases which seem to be complicated like giving 2 or 3 generic reasons for a refusal or if the applicant feels the VO is wrong in their assessment

Hello Beautiful people of NL
Special shoutout to everyone. Congrats to all PPR recipients and my best wishes are with those still waiting @kweje @chiziteremary @teemenzo etc.
Travel plans for wifey have been hectic hence my brief absence from this forum. I wish to specially recognize @Kweje for all her support during processing of form A for school fees. It was a very hectic journey but it all ended in praise. See eh, I am saying it with my full chest @Kweje is a GURU. Reach out to her if you're in doubt about anything during this who visa appl process.

I have a question regarding medicals. My daughter is a US citizen and will be accompanying wifey. We didn't apply for a Canada visa for her nor did she do medicals. Would the lack of medicals pose a problem for her at POE?

Hello NairaLand Nation. (My country people, please i need you guys help) I literally consider myself not too know anything as to know something,

i would like to start a new career, especially for the sake of my daughter, so i bring my problem come meet una, So you guys can advise me best as to reduce my life's mistake because normally person wey no know road., e go just dey lost dey go.

So i have a job here in Nigeria, a home, a small company as well, i just realized my life is actually wasting away in Nigeria, May God not allow Nigeria to happen to anybody.

so here is my question,

I want to go for my studies (Masters) in Canada but i don't want to put all my eggs in one basket, as much as i would love to leave Nigeria, leaving Nigeria is not just the main goal for me, make person no go leave frying pan enter fire in the sense that what if i don't like canada, what if the cold is unbearable for me, what if - So many "what if............."

first thing i thought would be good is for me to first visit canada and see if its the right fit for me, if not make i go meet my family for USA but i don't like the USA as well due to the Gun Bruhahah* but even Nigeria sef no safe.

now let me cut to the chase!

I want to study in canada but i would like to first visit and come back then decide if i want to study there or seek another country.

I have a paying Job - ( 9 to 5 )
I little home of mine (Not Rented)
A family, wife and daughter
A registered company (Not so Big)
I invest in the Nigerian Stock Exchange
I am a Graduate in one of the Nigerian University
I own a small car, and a few landed properties
I have hand work - I can build Aluminum windows and Doors apart from my white collar job - 5Years of Apprenticeship down the drain.

Basically i live my life off asset rather than cash

I have a friend in canada, more than 10years of friendship that she even offered to house me for free if i ever make it to canada either for visit or for studies. but we are not related, just pure friendship, we do video calls once in a while, she's willing to help in anyway she can as she knows my family gan, like we've been friends for that long - YES!

what is the best step to take to visit this canada and reduce my chance of being rejected.

please if you are an agent, i use God name take beg you, stay away from me, una don do one of my guy bad thing wey make me fear una pass Satan sef, i would appreciate an open advise or perhaps send my email for a private advise, but i will not be happy dealing with a visa agent.

PS: This is my first time ever trying to secure a canadian visa., would you advise i just shoot for the Study visa directly or first apply for a tourist visa to find out if canada is the right fit for me for studies and life after Nigeria.

Pleas you guys should come through for me, another 8years in Nigeria with election by the corner no even dey sweet my body.

I would appreciate if anyone could explain this process to me like a 5year old,

This is basically my first time being so interested in canada, like to leave Nigeria no dey even move me but after that ENDSars and this election by the corner, Omo my Omo is Omo'ed!

Question: Visit first or Apply for Studies Straight!
Reason: to reduce the ups and downs of visa headaches, and also to decide which school is best for me.
With your skills Express Entry may be possible for you and it's due to resume soon. You can try looking into that

Hello everyone, please I need you all input. I applied for visiting in 2019 but I was refused and the agent I used sent me the refusal letter. I applied for study visa since Jan 2022 and I'm yet to get a decision. However, I did biometric in 2019 but I was sent another biometric request letter again in Feb, so I had to redo the biometric. Now, I discovered the refusal letter that the agent gave me doesn't have a date. Could it be I was banned and the agent tailored the letter? These thoughts have been on my head for few days now. Please help me. What can I do?

Order for GCMS notes. You'll have a bird-eye view on what may be happening.

Applied Feb 7 2022
Biometric Feb 9, completed March 4 2022
Background check completed March 4 also
Upfront Medical - Feb 8, Completed Feb 15
Eligibility started March 28
Refused May 26

Reason stated for refusing the application:

I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in
subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your personal assets and financial status.

So sorry about this. Remember it’s not over until you win. Order for your GCMS notes to address issue of concern ASAP. Tackle each points critically. From what I read on this platform, your next application might not take too long to get a response, since medical and biometrics are already done. I wish you God’s speed.

Thanks man, i appreciate your response,

I actually acquired that skill immediately i rounded up with my secondary school, that was back in 2007/2009, and it was by a road side shop, although i finished and got my certificate from my boss before i decided i wanted to change my life, then i went on to apply for a university degree.

I understand Canada seem to be a very strict place with so much English jargon i am not used to (GCMG, PPR and so on)

If given the chance, lets say you were in my shoe, would you go for this Skill Express Entry or just stick to Student route,

I really appreciate your time and your kind input, i would be glad if i can get more insight as tbh, i am still very much confused on what to even place my hands on concerning the best possible, less daunting process to secure a future for the sake of this little girl i brought into this world.

i am giving myself from now till next year dec as i really don't want to rush anything as to get it right, but God has final say but humans can make the whole thing a lot easier for their next man.

Thanks chief, i look forward any more input

Hello Chief, for a young guy like me (24) who has no personal assets like car or land, how do I prove personal assets? Although my Dad is going to be sole sponsor and he has enough money in the bank to prove this. Can I maybe get my mum to gift her land to me as personal asset?

Thanks in advance.

Express Entry or visit/study.
Well for a start express entry is a lot cheaper. You need only about 10-15 thousand CAD as proof of funds for a single applicant which doesn't even cover tution for most schools in Canada plus express entry gives you the PR immediately. If I had the necessary NOC qualifications and with Express Entry draws said to be resuming soon, I would go for it but if finance isn't an issue then academic route is still a very good pathway

From your post what I can deduce is that your mind is not yet made up on which pathway to follow in getting a Canadian visa or if Canada will be just good for you.

Generally, it depends on what you want for yourself and family. Your friend who lives in CA whom you communicate with should be able to give you a lot of gist about CA and advise you accordingly, however, visiting the country gives you first hand real experience in order to make an informed decision.

No country is heaven on earth o, even CA have their own problems but over there the system works, cold dey everywhere even in europe people adjust to it so long you are living a good/fulfilled life

If you want to start a new career (I don't know what you mean by that) then the study route will be the best option, infact that's the popular route people go through and depending on how soon you want to move.

Another option you mentioned is visiting, but that would depend on your purpose of visit, if you have the financial means and ties to your home country. If you got what it takes to visit then you can use that option and see if CA suits you. There are a number of ways you can use to immigrate but you have to decide which pathway you want to use based on what you want. I think this is what you should do as the first step.

Cheers

If you don't have asset(s) in your name it's not a problem, if your dad is going to be your sponsor he should provide his bank statement 4months and a good balance, get a reference letter from his bank and a written letter stating he's your father and he's going to bear full responsibility for your proposed purpose of visit, if you have some money in your bank account you can also submit it. If your mom is willing to gift you a land then let her transfer ownership in your name and attach the document and you can attach other family assets all these will suffice but the koko is a good bank statement from your sponsor etc like I mentioned earlier

thanks chief, so i am assuming Express Entry thing is like a draw from what you said, which means even if i have all the requirement, there is still a chance of not being picked since its a draw, meanwhile i seen rejection letters as well from people who tried the academic route,.

15K CAD is not a lot and at the same time it is a lot, i can just give up a few asset or seek external help to raise the fund.

You mentioned the Express Entry gives an instant PR (Permanent Residency)

how soon can i try to bring my daughter to join me if i eventually get the PR, do i have to wait for 2years or more before i bring her in,

then lastly, this draw looks like its something that comes on and off (like a program)

when is it resuming so i can look into this myself, maybe like a timeframe, because honestly i am still scared of this visa agents out there.

i did a small research into it just now on NL and from the look, i rounded up with almost 65 - 70 point even though i cut down a lot on my expectation with the point.

"when is the Express Entry resuming" is it this year, which month etc.

thanks

You are right, i haven't made up my mind yet, its like blue pill / red pill

My friend is willing to help as much as she can. but she has zero knowledge on how to bring or advise anyone to come to Canada. she is even willing to help as far as sending me any of her personal docs as sponsor but like i said, zero knowledge on how to bring anyone in or even process visa steps.

but once i am in, she made me understand she can help with making my PR as fast as possible with her work position etc.

it is now left for me to create my own path to this promise land every Nigerian is dreaming about, but this is not just a dream for me, i am doing this for the little one, left to me,.. i am happy if only this Buyari Govt and the incoming one just act right.

The journey is not even about me, as am typing this, i am battling with running nose due to the rain that fell in Lagos last week and this week, you see why i am a little shy with Canadian weather,

make Cold no go kill me for there,

Basically i want to take this risk for the sake of the small one.

I would love to first visit before even taking any long jump but i can not proof that this person over there is my relative, because she is not!

has anyone ever used "Physical University Visitation" as purpose of travel/tourist, how did it work out, this is the only valid reason i have to want to visit there first.

can i use my friend's home as proof of accommodation if i go for short term visit (tourist)

so lets assume i want to visit first, please direct me to official website where i can begin the process/ read more etc, or do i have to visit the embassy, is there like a physical interview like the US or everything is done online.

omo make una no vex abeg for all this question, my dad would say person wey dey ask for direction no dey lost.

I just need a pointer, i will pick up my path from there.

Since you have made up your mind to visit then let the person do her own part by providing you with a letter of invitation stating you have been friends for a long time etc with some documents relating to her status there.
