It's good you have it for self confidence but since I've started this hustle from using EID to using Corolla and and Civic and now using a Benz I've never been stopped by any law enforcement agencies to ask for my papers let a lone for that nonsense documents.

The day a police officer stopped me and ask if my licence I mistakenly gave him my Lasdri he asked me watin I won use this one do, Mr man give me ur DLgrin

When I was on the highway outside Lagos for a trip a police saw the heckney permit and said, this is for those with public plate No. And those carrying loads with their cars not for private cars.

Since my Lasdri expired I've not even made any attempt to renew it after all it's not even useful

Don't mind overzealous Lagos state ministry of transport. Or should I say they just want to create an avenue to get money ni. I wonder the use of lasdri when there's original driver's license. Anyway to avoid trouble of some overzealous officers, it's better to collect it cos I have seen them apprehend even a private car driving an Indian (company's car o not uber/bolt). Much respect boss

Tokunbo or brand new?
Bros unfortunately we are in a country that old parts will last longer than new ones, but if you must do new one make sure it's original one ooo.
It's difficult though because what they have in the markets are practically Chinese ones, but check online you'll get original japanese parts though they cost an arm.
That's assuming you really want to get the original parts and most importantly can afford it.

You are right about that, drivers sustain the life force of the app, I know LASG can't do much.

But come to think of it, LASG haven't rolled out those their LAGRIDE, are they taking a cue from Moove?

Lagride that was dead on arrival. Na there those cars go get rotten and devalued. No sane citizen go venture in such scheme.
Time will tell sha.

Let me.dhare a secret because no matter how experience you're you can't avoid been caught because human are bind to commit some silly mistakes.

The only times I go out early is when I've early morning offline to pick up. So what I do is I don't start early. Most times 11am/1pm
Sometimes I start by 4pm.

Mondays are always volatile everybody has spent all the money during the weekend so sometimes I don't even go out unless I've a good off-line.

Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays are my best days for work less volatile for law enforcement agencies...

Mondays, Tuesdays morning 8am till 1pm and Fridays all day they're very active I believe you know why so don't expect me to waste my energy explaining.

Know these things and know peace, some of these days I do trips to places like Marina and park anywhere without being harass self but I don't dare try it on those bad days.

So the business requires experience, patience and good knowledge on how things work

I've been going thru the thread since and I have to comment here!

A WORD IS ENOUGH FOR THE WISE

BTW @Felicity, I took to your advise and I found an Elantra on rental for 30k weekly. Owner is painting it on Saturday so hopefully I can pick it up on Monday...

@Lush, How are you doing...
@tobisunday, @Duplik8t77, I sent you a dm. I need you guys to share your experiences with me pls.

This freedom was on Bolt before. Indriver has it, it made a lot of drivers port, which subsequently made them (indriver) headlines to LASG. I can't tell you what to do.

In almost every part of Lagos, especially mainland, there are unwritten traffic rules.

Let me drop one here for you.

Adebola house, Opebi. Don't park briefly to pick riders. If you park there briefly, even if your hazard lights are on, if those lastma guys on hilux happen to meet you there, you will surely be arrested. I have seen many newbie Uber guys nabbed at that particular spot.

I sabi that place Wella! I can never park there o! It's better to enter the parking space of that Adebola House or Enter that close beside the building.

Front of that Adebola House na RED ZONE except at night or on specific periods Sundays.

True talk, stick to areas you know well. There's a trick to it though

Currently at oshodi to do my lasdri card we dey lecture room its just 3k..... Please driver's ensure to get it so we won't be victim of this wicked men on uniform........ I've done the hackney permit few minutes ago.... 4k.
For this Hackney permit, I was stopped by VIO on Monday around that Ojodu side and they checked my license and car papers, all accurately updated. They asked for this Hackney permit, I told them I don't have and never done it before (that's what car owner told me when I asked from the beginning of our deal - he has not done the Hackney before). The VIO officer said if he checks and finds that I've done it before and I don't have it again, I would be an offender.
He checked on his phone and later gave me my papers and license that I am good to go.
I just drove off.
Hackney is not a must if you've never had it before, according to that scenario.
Much respect, boss.

Nigeria used.

Major issues: Ball joint and transmission.

With proper maintenance, the user would be fine. Strong engine and excellent AC

@tobisunday, @Duplik8t77, I sent you a dm. I need you guys to share your experiences with me pls.

Congratulations bro a good way to start and I wish you the very best as you sojourn in this task that you're about to begin.

Since you're starting with rental I will encourage you to start very early, as early as 4:30am.
When it's getting to 7, 8, 9 and down to 12noon just be very careful around ikeja,, On 3rdMB, Marina, Oshodi, and VI.

Don't always from start to finish as rider to direct you most of them don't drive so they don't know where a wrong turning is... You can only ask them to direct you on the best route in and out to their destinations and area once you're getting close to their place or driving out because most time the app don't have all the streets so most times people use a close street to their nearby. So rely mainly on your map, put, get a phone holder and put it in a location visible enough to you and same time in the road, preferably put it on the dashboard so that the GPS signal can be very okay because GPS don't work under a shade.

Gmap is very reliable don't listen to what riders say, most of them will tell you it's not reliable I just look at them and laugh, since I've been using Gmap it has never misdirect me, I only misunderstood it and it re-route as always.... This is why you should always at all time confirm where your rider is going to after starting their trip because most of them select the same street but in a different LGA while trying to make a request then they blame it in Gmap. So take note of that.

Each time you're on 3MB and the map ask you to turn to Ikoyi, or Tafabalewa, or Marina Rd always join the queue don't try to please any rider who is in a hurry, you're not the reason why they're late o... LASMA officials are always at the dead end to arrest those who always want to join the queue b4 the turn so take note.

Along the lekki-Epe Epre Rd, especially at the 1st, 2nd and 3rd round about try study the way the road construction is so you don't fall prey to those lasma officials they're always there morning till night like vultures waiting for deadbodies to eat so be careful with them.

Know the BRT corridors in Eko bridge don't follow it especially going towards Marina and Apongbo lasma and taskforce are always there... If them catch you na saraa oo maintain the 2 left lanes.

For your sanity and safety and peace of mind don't pursue bonus, only try to eat your welcome bonus which doesn't come with too much conditions but after that forget anything bonus, it's a trap to law enforcement agencies.

Take breakfast b4 leaving the house. For the now close early and start early and lastly don't drag road with any body ooh e get why
