Do you know how much a bottle of Glenfiddich 18yrs sells for?

Nigerians consume it a lot.

Bro, money dey this country. Some services aren’t meant for everyone.
Do you have fiber optics at home? I don’t but there are fiber optics companies in Nigeria breaking even yearly

Smile 4G is a private internet provider , majority of Nigerians doesn't use it , it's reserved mainly for the business class, when it comes with data consumption it's always MTN , Airtel ,glo or 9mobile that comes to ncc monthly data report because they are catering for the majority of Nigerians which is why MTN, Airtel glo is so rich because they believe in carrying everyone alone , smile 4G how many states are they even covering or have services self it doesn't count

Everyone has their business model.

Not true. You're comparing apples with oranges. Two different things.

Starlink price is the same globally. Do some digging before you buy that thing. Local is always the best when it comes to ISP
We don't care. If it comes and they actually deliver on the speed and reliability then we will go for it.

Highest na to put head together do combo

So, we should hope that Starlink will not corrupt Nigeria. undecided

Nah, they won't charge upto that amount in Nigeria, they charge according to the country's financial capabilities, Nigeria won't tax them as much as the other Nations and as such, the subscription will be within the reach of common Nigerians,
That's why Netflix subscription is around $9.99-$19.5 per month in the USA (approximately ₦5k-₦20k) but just ₦1,200 in Nigeria, same services.
You get sense jawre........

What’s the power supply situation in Benin Republic?

Everyone has their business model.
Fine that doesn't cover majority ok, there was a time Samsung was the most expensive phone in Nigeria they don't have phone's for everyone what happened to them , their market gain's came crashing which is why Tecno , Infinix, itel, Xiaomi was able to penetrate Nigerian market with affordable smartphones for everyone, Samsung seeing what is happening to their Sales started doing phones for everyone as much as or as low as your pocket can afford, today they are back in market. Majority matter's.

I’m not saying majority doesn’t matter BUT you need to know that it’s a business, you decide how best to break into a market and choose the part of the market to focus on.

Not every business must cater to the needs of the ‘masses’ to make money

It will be too expensive for average Nigerians..

Monthly sub of $100 that's about 61k, and one time payment of $500..

My Naija peeps will pass
Im sure they'll make room for lower packages that more nigerians can afford
N igeria's average internet speed is 8.68 mbps. The fastest Ive had is 15 mbps . Give us 100 mbps for a 5th of the price which is $20 and a one time payment of $100 and we'll be happy.
Corporate bodies and high net worth individuals can pay for the 500 mbps.
Besides theres competition from googles under sea cable which reached nigeria this month. I cant wait to dump dstv!

You only think about yourself which I'm sure you are just forming audio big boy or you are likely not living in Nigeria that is why you are so selfish in your reasoning.

So the fucking damn starlink will be available to jobless youths, 15k a month civil servants at $100 and 500k for one off package and to you its cool? Hello can you tell me with honesty your job? The name of your company? What do you do for a living if truly $100 is nothing to you to subscribed to starling or whatever?

You are one the of the youth that will be very wicked than buhari, a youth who only think about himself, a youth who cares not about those in the street with no hope. I'm ashame of you. And I'm sue you must be apc member because they are the human in Nigeria that has no pity on the people below the ladder.

Very evil.

What we are doing here is speculation until when they lunch if it's only 60k minimum is their data they can't break any marketplace unless they offer something cheaper than MTN or airtel

Haba na! How on earth do you even think that they will use same payment capacity they use abroad for Africa even though we know the man is from the US.

You should know the buying power of countries differ. They won't use the same payment price abroad for Africa.

Price will be set according to the nominal buying power of the citizens of the country it is launched.

It's a normal common sense something.

Shebi the running cost is lower in Africa? Or you think it's charity they're doing?

Price of Tesla is the same universally. In fact, there is a website for ordering Starlink.

It's the same price that everyone is paying on that website.

Do some digging before you jump into this. It's just business.

Have you ever heard of variety? Is there any internet service provider that has only one plan?

Na wa for una o, allow them to come in and fix their prices, allow Nigerians to decide whether they can pay or not. Are you aware that people currently pay 50-100k monthly on data?

Na wa o, you think say Nigerians broke? Don’t believe the wailing you see on the internet

Some offices even pay more than 5m a month just for data for a given branch of theirs
