Depends on the usage. Some 100k miles are in better shape than some with 50k miles. No rush, ask the owner for the car history and changed parts, also do thorough inspection to find the parts that might be getting worn out and would need replacement. Drive the car on highway and within town and pay attention to irregular noise, squeaks and sounds, lights and electronics, AC strength etc. If you want to drive it twice to be sure, do it There should be a guide on 100k miles service online so back it up with research and the carfax service history. Lastly, price accordingly. Good luck

also open the Sam control unit and check for crazy wires going up and down if you find one, just know that Sam is bad oo. Then check the mass air flow if it's working and connected. New one is like 65k. Check for smokes from engine too. Lastly I will advice you to buy this cheap scanners OBD2 scanner of 4k plug it in and scan with your phone. Mercedes gives wahala when you figure out the parts are bad ooo. You go spend tire..and the final thing, if the AC is working, after you have done every test and all is fine. Just find the low pressure point of the AC and push it let the small liquid from the gas get to your hands. If they are black, budget 250k for replacement.

A scan should tell you what’s wrong. Were you involved in a crash or did water ingress occurred in any SAM or Control module?
Re: Mercedes Benz Thread by YomaA(m): 5:31pm On May 19, 2022
I didn't get in a crash, only issue I had was water from a silly car wash boy who doesn't know how to wash engine, somehow wet my plugs and spoilt my cars alternator and fan.
Since then I have had my fan replaced 2ce and the fan blows with a heavy helicopter sound and then this list of error messages started coming up, cruise control inoperative, blidspot and car sos mbrace

You recently washed your engine and the issue started, this sounds like electrical issues. The washer boy has destroyed your alternator and fan, definitely water might have ingress into the SAM and Brain Box which causes the fault. Not all car wash men know how to wash engine, Benz is too electrical to be subject to water bath. Get your car scan to get the root of the faults

2007 c320 ECU issues?

The car starts and stop after a few seconds, high speed engine fan, not starting at all sometimes. The scan revealed car is not communicating with the ecu. Different car readers brought but no way.

The Rewire said he would only buy the ecu with same part number and reprogram the stuff with machine.

The mechanic said that is impossible that we would have to buy the ECU, EIS and the key and replace those parts in the vehicle to make the car work again

What do you think guys?

The ECU has actually packed up. You only need to Buy ECU of same part number and re-program. You don't need to buy another EIS and Key. Go with the rewire but ensure he is a good Benz rewire. Check what has caused the ECU to pack up, whether it is water intrusion and prevent reoccurrence.

Seriously there is no straightjacket answer to your question. It depends on how the gear oil was when it came( recently serviced over there or has done 3 years or over). When i got my benz toks, i changed engine and gear oil before usage and was glad i did. Thereafter it was every other 18 months (2ce) and subsequently yearly. The price of the oil is also not a problem for me cause i am a dealer . My kazeem saves my used oil and uses it on his W202( he will say , my oga the oil just start work). So just do as you deem fit.

Gentlemen, I have been thinking of procuring an '08 C300 and would appreciate advice on what to expect in terms of maintenance and fuel consumption. Before now I've only driven Japanese (Corolla, Camry). I have in mind the 2012 Camry as well, but it is too large for my tastes. I prefer a compact car.

I mainly drive within the city, but I travel interstate three or four times a year. Is the C300 suitable for journeying? Is it reliable in the long term (considering it's already a 14 years old car at least)? How thirsty is it? What parts most commonly need replacing and what do they cost? These are some of the things that I wonder about.

Can anyone say?

the older these cars get the more they become a money pit.

1-Drive shaft flex disc cracked / Replace

2-Cylinder head Oil leak in back & torque bolts

3-ABS Modulator clogged by dirty oil.

4-( EIS )Electronic ignition switch / Replace

5-Electronic Steering interlock switch / replace

6-Cam gear shaft & adjustor ,Selonoid/ replace

7-Belt tensioner/ replace

8-Brake disc & pads/ replace

9- Power Windows regulator

The Eis lock is the most common. Your tire must always be straight anytime you pack. You can also fix it and remove it completely

However these are things I copied online. Since I have Mercedes, the only thing I've fixed is new O2 sensor, camshaft sensor and mass air flow. We know sensor's fail in cars offer after years etc. I have never experienced Eis lock, even when my tire was slightly turned. And also, you will suffer if the road is not good, it has damaged my engine cover, and sand protector twice.

OP buy your car and enjoy it. I have someone who bought one a year ago for 3.3m and he has nothing but praises for the car and his decision to get it before prices soared. Its a great ride just try and get a clean one in shape.

Dude he is giving you links and I am talking to you as a driver , also know that what you are driving is a V6 engine that weighs a ton! That SUV is a thank !

Don't ask clowns about cars ask those that own the car randomly! Get a first hand experience...it's an SUV and don't think you are going for some small 1.4 engine .. dude that ride is a monster and it commands respect! It's a 3.2 engine and 12 fūcking plugs but not noisy , it's quiet!

ML is a good SUV, remember you aren't buying a highlander or that one they call baby ọkụ ! You are driving a Benz !

Remember the best or nothing...of you can't handle it...abeg go buy honda Babyboy or bulldog! Spend the better of your money repairing pulled legs or go get a Toyota and be ringing the engine every 2 yrs

Dude it's left for you....Benz isn't a car for kids but it's a car that when you drive it, you would find it hard to drive Japanese ! I own one and this isn't my first Benz !

It's a good ride ! I drive it ! It has great features ! The entertainment systems awesome, great buttons , nice climate controls

Sorry I am just reading this. That ML is the best car I have owned. Extremely rugged car. I used it all through the road expansion at lekki passing through water and bush. The car served me for 5years. Sold it for 950k in 2018 and the new owner is still rocking it to date. Just ensure you buy from Europe.
