Working for a CQC registered care home should make one eligible, I think. What is on the home office page is if you work for the NHS or CQC. You can read annexe A which is available on the home office website to check eligibility.

Thanks a lot.

Hiya. I have seen a number of students get approved. Why don't you try? Someone even mentioned that he was less than 2 months (or thereabouts) in the country and also got approved.

If approved, use wisely though.

Hi everyone, I have a question pls.
I'm currently on a UK student visa with my family, my husband being my dependant got a job that's about to sponsor a tier2 visa for him.
I have a 2 yr visa as well as option for post-study and I'm still in the first year of my student visa.
If my husband gets this tier 2 sponsorship right now (this month) will all our visas be moved to the tier2 including mine? or how is it done?
Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by Bourne007(m): 12:32pm On Jun 03, 2022
If applying together, you will be on a dependent visa and he will be on a Tier2. After 5 yrs, both get ILR. If you become dependant, you can't switch to PSW.

Thanks for your response but pls let me understand better

Does becoming his dependant means I forfeit my Post study Work permit??

Is it a better option for me to switch to being his dependant considering everything?

Yes, you will forfeit it but being his dependent is better because you can get your ILR after 5 years. PSW does not count towards the 5 year route.

Yes way better as explained by @mizGene (if all goes as expected)

I'm assuming your 2nd year is a placement, if it was me and I get the dependant visa, I will reduce my studies to a one year and get it out of the way.

Ok thanks.
I would really like this reduction option, but I'm done with my first semester already, is it not late for me to reduce to 1 year?
Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by Bourne007(m): 2:14pm On Jun 03, 2022
The rules are if no placement is gotten, it automatically reduces to a year for you to then start your project. So I see no reason why it can't be .. . Just email your respective schools that you now prefer to start project immediately and no longer interested in placements and see what they say

Just the same way some students ask for placements and get additional 1 year

Hello Everyone,

For those that have gotten AMEX Card, Please I have two questions

1. Let's assume I get a credit limit of 2,000. What is the maximum that I can spend from the card in a month?
2. What is the repayment like, monthly or can be spread over some months?

Thank you

Hi Everyone, please I need some advice from the house.

I applied for my student visa in September 2021 and when I received my BRP in October 2021 after arriving in the UK, it said it would expire in November of 2022. At the time I didn't know much or thought there was a problem, but recently I have confirmed from several people who also applied at the same time or even before me for the same September school start date, that theirs are ending in January 2023, as there are some months of grace added.

Please how do I go clarifying this and can this be rectified as it will go a very long way in helping both me and my dependents whose BRP are also tied to the November expiration date.

(1). £2000 is the maximum every month and there might be charges if you go over the £2000 limit.

(2). If you spend like £300 out of your £2000 limit in June, you can choose to pay off the full £300 and that way you won’t have to pay any interest. You also have the option to spread it over for a long period of time but that would mean having to pay interest.

Also, if you’ve got a Netflix subscription, try and watch the credit card episode of this series. It’s really explanatory.

Is there something that can be done to make this detergent foam. Sometimes is like the washing machine does not wash the clothes clean because the detergent does not foam.

It’s probably to do with hard water content in your area. Some areas in South East are notorious for hard water. We don’t have that problem in Scotland.

1. Max you can spend is £2k but people are generally advised to only spend 30% of their credit limit.
2. Repayment is monthly, check your credit card statement for due date. You can either pay minimum payment as defined in your contract or pay entire balance. Compound interest is charged on the outstanding balance. There are other debt options if you want to spread payments. You can try BNPL schemes or apply for a 0% purchase card (if your credit score is strong enough for that).

Question might be best answered in student thread.
Are those people studying same course with you? If not, first confirm from your own course mates.
If still an issue, reach out to UKVI and they should issue new BRPs to you. Although you will have to pay for it. https://www.gov.uk/biometric-residence-permits/report-problem

Detergent here in uk can be very annoying, expensive and also a waste of money.
I had the same experience when we got here, I had to convince my wife that we should stop buying detergent and use dish washing liquid instead. It works perfectly well, cleans clothes with nice fragrance, cheaper and last longer than detergent.
There is a particular one she prefers which is "fairy" (I believe I got the name right) because it foams better.
Give it a try and let's know your thoughts.

It doesn't foam when the water quality is hard.
Add more soap or use warm water 20-40°

Try to get fabric softener or switch detergents then.

I greet you all. Please I need your urgent assistance.

My elder sister is running an Msc course in the Uk. The course is with Internship placement and she is yet to get an internship and her deadline is June 10
Though she has an assessment centre by June 12 which she is positive about but want to get an offer letter before June 10 .

My questions are .

1. Can she do her internship remotely with any firm outside UK. especially an Audit firm in Nigeria pending the time she will get an offer in Uk?

2. What is the implication of not getting the internship before June 10? Will her course be changed to research placement. ?

3. Will this affect her student Visa ?i.e if it will require her going back to the uk immigration to process a new student visa having the narration of the changed course

Please help your sister.

Thank you
