Abia State Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has finally spoken on the relationship between him and his deputy, Rt. Hon. Ude Oko Chukwu who is jostling to succeed him in office in 2023.

The governor who spoke with 'Nigeria Right Now' recently insisted that his deputy never informed him of his intention to contest for the Governorship of Abia State.

He said his deputy had gone everywhere informing others before he was advised to see the governor.

This time, Ikpeazu said it was already late.

He said, "My Deputy didn't tell me he wanted to replace me, he didn't consult me, he had gone everywhere before they advised him to talk to his Governor, when he finally came, I told him he has come a bit late, mind you, I am the only Governor in Abia State that has ran almost 8 years with his Deputy.

"He became very ambitious and refused to consult me, I don't have any place in my heart to harbour bitterness, otherwise I would have done what I should do, everybody knows what a person in my position can do to a recalcitrant Deputy, but I don't think that is a way to go".

but Tinubu tried as Governor of lagos state than ikpeazu but yet Ikpeazu is not hated and criticized despite his complete failure

Even in his state he is being refers to as the most useless of all the state governors in Nigeria both past and present..

Orji Uzor and T.A Orji both used not less than 2 deputies each during there tenure. OUK had almost 4 deputies before his tenure ended. He (Ikpeazu) has tried in that aspect. Ude Okochukwu did not do well though. He went on consultation before informing Ikpeazu like they were having issues.

You don't know the Abia State you went to. Stop echoing what others say on internet without being sure. Have you been to Umuahia before? Is Umuahia not okay? Have you been to Aba since 2017?? You guys should stop saying what you don't know............. just like the picture of the man sharing kerosene is depicted as Ikpeazu. That person is not Ikpeazu.

I am not saying he is a saint neither am i saying he looted or not, but what i am saying is for you guys to stop the stereotyping of Aba and Abia State in general.
