I made my mind to get a 2011 Camry XLE, should I go for the 4Cyl or v6. Fueling it wouldn't be my problem though but it's gonna be a daily driver from home to work mostly and long distances (From Lekki to Oshogbo - Ilorin) once in a while. Kindly advise. Thanks.

It's like the v6 is the way to go... never made a concluding decision anyway. Thanks everyone for your inputs.

The long distance is only once in a while... like once in 3-6 months. And what's the resale value of the two?

Nigerians don’t hate v6 engines , na money for fuel , OP if you’re not a speed person just go for the i4 it’s good and reliable, economical too , but v6 more speed better acceleration and more fuel

I will go with the i4, the 2.5L 4 cylinder has enough power for all it's worth, less stops at fueling station, better gas mileage and can run as fast as other cars on the highway

Drive a v6 for a while and you won't want to touch any 4-cylinder engine..You would actually hate traditional 4 cylinder engines.. The turbo 4-cylinders are a different kettle of fish sha grin

The stealthy silence and power of a v6 is very hard not to fall in love with.

There is very little that's as gratifying as doing 130km/hr and your car's rpm is barely above 2k rpm smiley.. Omo, e go be like say na float u dey float inside the motor grin

If v6 can be like that, I then wonder what v8 sedans feel like cry

Besides, the fuel consumption difference between it and the 4-cylinder is barely up to 2 miles.. Assuming both cars are in good condition and driven similarly

After owning and using a Camry V6 for the past 4 years, nothing will ever make me touch a V4/i4 for life. Go for the V6, maintain it well and you'd never regret it.

I've been using the V6 for a couple of years now and my engine still feels like new.

Just this Sunday, i was out on a long drive and the power of the engine still gave me chills.

I maintain the car myself so its still in pristine condition. In fact i get better mileage than my friends with the 4 cylinder.

If you want comfort and power, this is it hands down.

I disagree o.. its not about speed my brother. the v6 engine of that car is one of the most reliable Toyota engines. while the I4 i believe is not in the top 10. Burning oil and the rest.

buy the V6 if fuel is not your concern. that engine is bulletproof. you will be glad you did

no be competition bros. you can make your point without shouting wrong!
can you confirm that the 2AR engine didn't have the oil burn issue as its predecessor?

if so, still doesn't change my position. the V6 is better and you know it.

hahahaha.. its now by force grin grin.
No mind me sha. just my experience. I had the V6 and a friend had I4 (albeit, 2009 model). we both maintained our cars well. Mine had 145Kmiles to start with, his 80k (we confirmed on carfax). 4 years later in 2017, his own was seeing its last leg of life. mine is still strong till today with the guy i sold it to. (almost 200k miles).

na why i dey fear the 4 cyl.

The v6 engine inside Toyota camry is one of the most reliable automobile engine in existence today

While lots of people tend to stay away from this engine because of fuel consumption the truth is that when you maintain your car properly and make sure your catalyst converter (AKA indomie) is not stolen by any of this criminal mechanics

You will definitely get almost the same fuel efficiency you would have gotten from the i4

FYI, the i4 is ladened with problems

You might Not only the normal oil burn in the 2az engine used in the 07-010 camry

There’s just something about i4 camry engines that I detest

Apart from making the car boring and cliché

There are other niti grity issues that wont allow you enjoy your ride in peace

I am not a fan of speed and I wouldn’t go for a v6 because of speed but that reliability alone thicks all the boxes for me

Thanks a million bro for your contribution... just as you have said, I learnt the difference between the two in terms of fuel consumption is nothing to bother oneself about compare to what one will get in the v6. I have made up my mind to just go for the higer number... Meanwhile, every contribution on this thread has helped me in learning more about these machines. I appreciate una.
