The way Tinubu supporters credit him with the current state of Lagos, you would think Lagos prior to Tinubu's tenure was a desert. Lagos have always been a thriving commercial city, even going as far back to pre colonial and colonial era. Not to mention it was once the capital of Nigeria as well. Below is a pictorial representation of colonial Lagos, ca. 1885. “Lagos looking West from Church Tower,” from the National Archives UK, CO, 1069/78.

RealTalkNoBull:I will answer you in Achebe's words The Igbo " being receptive to change, individualistic and highly competitive, gave the Igbo man an unquestioned advantage over his compatriots in securing credentials for advancement in Nigerian colonial society. "Unlike the Hausa/Fulani he was unhindered by a wary religion and unlike the Yoruba unhampered by traditional hierarchies. This kind of creature, not fearing God nor man, was custom-made to grasp the opportunities, such as they were, of the white man's dispensation. And the Igbo did so with both hands. "Although the Yoruba had a huge historical and geographical head-start the Igbo wiped out their handicap in one fantastic burst of energy in the twenty years between 1930 and 1950. "Had the Igbo been a minor ethnic group of a few hundred thousand, their menace might have been easily and quietly contained. But they ran in their millions! Like J.P Clark's fine image of 'ants filing out of the wood' the Igbo moved out of their forest home, scattered and virtually seized the floor so yes we did |

The choice between Tinubu and Peter is the choice between Lagos and Anambra in terms of development. The decision is easy. Tinubu wins my vote every single time. |

You are misguided. Showing us P-Square's village home in Anambra comparing it to Banana island is out of place. If Anambra happened to be developed by the Britain as Lagos was when it was the capital of Nigeria, Peter Obi would have taken it far beyond what Tinubu did. Is Tinubu a leader? He empowered just agberos and you want to compare him to a great sacrificial leader like Peter Obi who me His state in a state of zero status in everything and within his 8years in office he overtook Lagos In some areas of good governance like education. Is Banana island Lagos State investment? Check well, the proceeds go into Tinubu's personal account. |
