Sacrificial giving is different, that’s giving out something that moves you yet you can still do without it and not regret of giving.

But here the op is regretting giving out his gas cylinder because he doesn’t have another to use. That’s not giving at all.

He would give his gas out to a neighbor and go hunger strike when the gas finish and his foodstuff go just dey with nothing to cook ham.. Meanwhile this neighbor would start using firewood after she realize d gas don finish... Why can't she use the firewood in the first place??
They would want to appear nice to everyone or maybe they're just being f00lish.

I arrived at a new house. Passage house(face me I face you house). I just wanted to spend sometime here pending when I have money to rent a self contain. On my arrival,I noticed a lot of people wanted to be my friend but I tread with caution. A lady who cohabits with a guy came to ask me for gas, I gave her. She continued asking for my gas for like a month. She would use my gas to cook fresh meals severally. I couldn't say no because I am Christian and I don't want people putting me in a bad light. She kept using my gas for almost six weeks. Till it finished. Before my gas finished,she will borrow the gas and not return it. After my gas finished, she went to fill 1kg. I was no longer having gas to cook. I used hers to cook about four times and I went to buy gas again. Hers finished,she started using mine again. My gas finished. Yesterday I filled my gas again,she came to borrow gas and this time I lied to her that I borrowed gas from our landlady. She was obviously angry that I didn't give her. This woman is a business person,she has money but she won't spend it. Our co neighbors complained to me that, she always do it when a new person enters the house. Even a young guys who lived in the same house said she did the same thing to him but he stopped her. Another woman too,she did that also . It has become a norms for her.
I don't know how to tell people NO. I can only frown my face to tell you NO but I will still give you that thing.

The day you say NO to such people, they overlook all the good you've done and focus on that particular instance. I know the limit of help I can render to people, once you overstep your boundary I shut you down asap. Recently a neighbourhood acquaintance that I sometimes buy stuff from came to tell me that the unstable light had damaged her freezer and asked if I can help keep her zobo in mine. I said no problem. I had to clear my freezer to keep her zobo at the bottom so it can get chilled quick. By the next day,most of the zobo were frozen and I asked her to come and pick them. She was very happy and grateful. A few days later, she brought another set of zobo and I kept them at the bottom of my freezer again. By the 2nd 3rd days we had light issue but her zobo was still chilled, I was wondering she wasn't why she wasn't coming to pick them till I started seeing strange people at my doorstep saying that she directed them to come and collect zobo from me. Omo I para o. By the time I saw her, I told her the agreement was to keep her zobo chilled not turn me into her sales girl. I told her to come and collect her zobo and keep them in a cooler. The blocked ones will keep the others chilled for at least 24 hours. She started grumbling to herself but I no send. Ever since then she has been carrying face whenever she sees me, it's like she wasn't informed that I no send anybody's papa. In this life, if you don't offend people you will offend yourself. Help if or when you can but if it's at the expense of your convenience, don't hesitate to say NO!

Like a fellow prayed for you, I don't pray that you live in such house too long. Nobody deserves to live in such a shanty.

The only assistance I render to neighbors is allowing them to charge their phones when my generator is on.

I intentionally don't fraternize with people wherever I live to avoid this kind of attitude, unfounded gossips, and avoidable allegations.
