Kudos to you.

We discover new things daily.
It was someone that first boiled eggs in this world,
Another Person was like, what if I fry this thing, how will it tastes like?
And there was a first person that Saw something like a white ball coming out from the anus of a chicken and decided to cook it for the very first time in the year 1342, to see what it tastes like, and here we are boiling, frying and eating eggs!!
There is always a first time for everything mehn!

We just discovered this fish below some days ago also,
It tastes exactly like lobster .
So delicious

What's the name of this fish? smiley

Apologies for the poor writing skills, I deal more with numbers.
After getting used to Rice, Beans and other common food in the country; I decided to explore more on un-traditional food on Jumia and I came across these three strange looking food.
1. Black Channa
2. Moong Dal
3. Moong Whole
I’ll be cooking the three and I’ll be posting pics here and comment on how yummy/bad they taste.
The first on the list is BLACK CHANNA(Chick Pea).
Watched a couple of videos on YouTube and I concluded it can be prepared like concoction beans(palm oiled beans).
Ingredients: half a pack of black Channa, tomato paste, pepper, Onions, Crayfish, vegetable oil(you can use palm oil if you like) and 420
First step is soaking to make it soft.
Read it can be prepared like groundnuts
Comment: SO YUMMY AND TASTY( I LOVE IT).

Meal for trenches...

Hi abbey? I grew up eating these lentils you consider 'strange'. grin

After soaking them and boiling them, drain that water completely. Try using lots of onions, garlic and dry red chilies. Some prefer to add ginger paste, so you can experiment with that. I prefer ginger-free moong.

You can also toast cumin seeds separately and then pour into the pot for the channa.

As for the moong (both split and whole), you can use mustard and/or fennel seeds instead of cumin seeds. If you're a fan of coconut milk like I am, you can add it in your stew. You can also add coriander just after you switch off your stove. Let it just steam inside the food.

Turmeric powder will give your food a pleasant colour so you can utilise it. You can also experiment with ghee instead of palm oil, or just try using any other type of vegetable oil (corn oil, sunflower oil, canola oil, etc).

This dish can be eaten with roti, naan or chapatti.

Just keep experimenting, but whatever you do, don't get economical with onions and garlic.

Bon appetit. cool
