In fact I know one stake holder that got 10 slots last year.. if he decides to share it all to people from his state tell me how someone with 100% marks is going to get shortlisted? That means only his candidates are going from that state.
Do you also know that people that didn’t even register can get their hands on that slot and get selected ahead of one that registered ? Yess, you heard me ryt. I know one and he is in England as we speak.
So the issue of marks should be less of your worries. Lol
Even to that.. ask whoever you want to ask from ptdf admin.. recommendation by panelists is the most important selection criteria when it comes to merit selection. If you want get 80% of the marks someone with 50% and recommendation by his interview panel is going ahead of you.

WAEC is very important. If not, there is no how many 2.2 candidates usually win.

You won it because your total score in your category might be in a less competitive state. Note that your category (FGM) is less competitive compared to UK. You might have got recommendation in your proposal as there is less competition. Most strong profile chose UK.

Many people with strong profile better than you did not win. They might have chosen UK which has more competition. They might have been in a more competitive states. Also, it could be that marking scheme was lenient as WAEC didn't carry much weight back then unlike now.

You just need to thank God and stop putting people hopes high. The truth is only few people will win and many people will be disappointed. Say it as it is.

Above all, it is God's grace that will make one win and not by anyone doing. Keep on praying. What will be will be.

An average profile of candidate A in state A might be better than than a distinction profile of candidate B in state B. So A might win and B might not.

Yes. You got it.

Because you scored low in WAEC and won it doesn't mean WAEC is useless.

Also because you got 2.2 in your first degree and won it doesn't mean First class is useless.

You were just lucky because you were in a less competitive state and you met your category list.

I saw one state in this list with PhD candidates in FGM of 6 people.

While another state had 29 candidates for FGM.

Those with 2.2 and average WAEC can actually win the first category. It is even likely among the 6, 4 people might miss the interview especially if they chose virtual interview as many candidates missed it. That means that the 2 people who did the interview will automatically win irrespective of their performance.

That is why I said PTDF scholarship is God's grace.

Not to add fuel to the speculative fire raging here but a while back someone very reliable theorized that for a person to stand a chance to win the scholarship, he has to score at least 70% in the process. Maybe they grade your documents and everything else to ensure you meet the cut-off mark and then the rest is solely based on the recommendation of your panel and PTDFs selection formula. This is why there are inconsistencies about the profiles of successful candidates because there are multiple ways to achieve that 70% minimum score and after that everyone stands a similar chance.

Again, this is purely speculative. I am done trying to make sense of the process. The list can't come out soon enough.

All requirements by PTDF are important.
We must understand that this scholarship is quota system based so, competition is state based.
What this means is if there is a tie on scores amongst applicants, these seemingly "not important" documents will come to play.

I am not an authority but I believe this makes logical sense

Mind you its usually easy for STEM courses to get these scholarships.

There are many USA and Canada universities that no longer require application fee especially now that UK introduced Post study visa.

Many schools now waive GRE.

Many USA and Canada universities

You just need to Google.

So many Nigerians are winning it. Try and change your network to get info.

My brother, talking of admission fees, I had to pay in dollars, that money pain me ehnn, do passport etc and no be say dem don even give the scholarship first o. Las las, my name no come outside. Some even require you get admissions in two or three. My friend did IELT, her two years don pass, she never use am get scholarship.

In all, I'm not saying these investments are bad or that people don't get scholarships but I find it draining to some. I better use that money pursue certifications.
