Another thing is when one bring it over. After spending that much, I don't want to hear Oga this one no the work here. The regular language our people use to discourage one to go their way. One of the best decision that I unwittingly made earlier on was to jettison the USA only ideology and stick to what works in Nigeria. I inspected a house in Ogun state that was built by an Americana. It was disappointing to see most of the door locks, faucets, kitchen cabinet hardware that were all shipped over has become dysfunctional over the years.

From what I'm seeing, shipping by sea will reduce prices drastically. My fear is determining quality. Does anyone have any experience in this line or ventured this route before and is it worth trial or a no no even though potentially cheaper.
I'm not new to buying stuff generally on Alibaba, my solar system, battery, inverters etc, I bought myself from there but I know little about building materials

If you have used a Chinese phone in Nigeria, that is riddled with ads and forced app installs, that even if uninstalled forcibly reinstall themselves and keep sending data to China with no way for the user to limit such transmissions

Or have used a Chinese browser that restricts access to sites critical of China you may feel differently, try Maxthon and visit websites critical of the Chinese Government or the ruling party there to appreciate that this applies even if you are not in China

If you work on sensitive stuff that might interest China, you may feel differently

The safest and most secured way is to have the items shipped to a trusted Nigerian shipper over there. He will do the quality inspection and then ship them to you in a consolidated container. The advantage is that the shipper can easily return the items for refund if they do not meet agreed specifications and quality.
Moreover since those are heavy items, you save on shipping cost from using container instead of air cargo. They would charge per cubic meter of certain weight limit.

you should never try this if you are not going to China yourself to source the items. but if you do not care about quality, then you can ride on.
