You're right, it was better then before ibo people came in their numbers to constitute nuisance all over the place.
They're the one who dispose trash on the roads and drainage, they also sell their okrika at any available space on the road, thereby causing traffic.

It is true that Lagos benefited from being the federal capital but Lagos island was the capital of Nigeria not the rest of Lagos state. The rest of Lagos, i.e Apapa, ilupeju, Ikeja, Surulere, Badagry, epe, were under the western region and were developed by Awolowo.
